Want Some Support? Looking for Non-Abusers and Good Writers.

in #steem5 years ago (edited)

After seeing @steevc’s recent post about Dolphin’s giving a little back, I thought I would do something about it today.

EDIT: I have my FIVE new followers now. @lion200, @dronegraphica, @bashadow, @wildhomesteading and @breadcentric. Thanks for all who commented and recommended people (or themselves).

With the recent downturn in the crypto markets whether it be the bears are back, or its just a glitch, there’s been less posts again recently and so I have a decent amount of voting power at my disposal.

I had a look through the #introduceyourself posts yesterday and really could not find anything worthy. I’m willing to give encouragement but only to those who make some effort.

trending.JPG

Today I took a different approach. I have several interests and write about a handful of topics. I chose the #urbex tag and found my last post at the top.

While this is not surprising considering barely anybody writes about this topic, I did notice another person who has several posts who was gaining barely any attention using the tag.

The problem is after checking his account is that he has numerous cheetah reports, and does not engage his audience.

I really do find it frustrating that when I want to help I can’t find the people who are deserving of it.

Time after time, I think I have found someone good and then find they are abusing the system in some way or don’t bother even saying thanks to their readers.

A typical example of what I find is this, no disrespect to the author but it's not really catching my eye

There are so many posts that are a single photograph, and a paragraph of text. If you are posting things of this nature and are a small account don’t expect anything to happen.

'Believe me nothing is going to happen unless you make some effort.'

If you look at my account, you will find I don’t follow hundreds of others, but I am not one of these who says, ‘Maximum 175 followers, no exceptions’, kind of guys either.

This post is a shout out to you all. I am looking to follow another FIVE Steemians, who must be under 5000 STEEM (not a Dolphin) and write good entertaining content.

The criteria I’m asking for is numerous in one way (< 5000 STEEM) and getting rare in the other aspect.

Yes, you can recommend yourself too. Entertain me with your inspiring stories, wild viewpoints and scintillating material and you may just receive votes, resteems, comments, engagement and a follow.

Drooling Maniac.JPG

If you found this article so invigorating that you are now a positively googly-eyed, drooling lunatic with dripping saliva or even if you liked it just a bit, then please upvote, comment, resteem, engage me or all of these things.

Sort:

Although I am quite a newbie here compared to you guys, but even with my low upvote value, I also have troubles finding content to upvote.

I remember you in my list of people who have followed me. I hope mine is the content you are looking for and inspires you to keep pumping out great stuff of your own.

Mr chops is a great guy to follow and I would creep his list of comments for other great content creators.

Thanks for your support @zekepickleman!

I like your travel posts, they remind me of mine. You my first one of the five. I'm tagging @toofasteddie as he's also interested in what I'm trying to do.

Your other one attracted @curie as it had more dialogue than the first. They like personal perspective's as well as photography.

Thanks for your support @slobberchops!
And thanks to @toofasteddie!

Catch it

I totally get what you mean, there is a lot of just general vapour-articles and copy/paste with links. Not interesting. I am posting quite a few one or two image posts with a paragraph or two because I promised myself i'd blog on here once a day, but having a new full time job, a partner who thinks I steem too much and being committed to other organisations, i'm finding it difficult to find the time! But I try to get one decent sized article or story at least once a week. Recently this one caught a few peoples attention and i'm using my drone to 3D model interesting things too.

On Urbex, this is something I do, but haven't for a while. I am however in the process of writing a few articles on some of my best visits to places in the UK. So, I'd say follow me (!) and you can see them and tell me what you think or you might have been yourself. I am yet to take my drone to an Urbex site, but that would probably be a massive giveaway to the security guards eh.

You will need to tell me how to get on @curatorhulk's list at some point, are you heading to SteemCamp 2 next weekend?

Now this I will look forward too, but have you got the photographs as well as the memories?

That's if the guards are onsite and awaiting your arrival which is rare (unless its Camelot). I would like to speak to you about drones sometime. @for91days uses them in his travels effectively.

Number 2 of 5, is you (@toofasteddie). I'll be doing another Urbex one soon. Not all are successes though.

I'm planning on coming along. I won't make the decision till later this week as I am pretty busy at the moment. Would love to meet you and others there though!

On Urbex, there are photos. Annoyingly I lost much of them during recent drop of a portable HDD. But i will be putting some up as I often recall them anyway. Where do you live? I am always up for some urban exploration

I live in the north-west near Manchester. I wish there were more of us. I plan to write a guide in hope that some others might give it a try.

Yeah and hope you can make it. It will be worth your while.

A guide would be a good step. I had to literally figure EVERYTHING out myself as I kne wno other Steem blogger. It took a real time investment (during a medical trial, so I had plenty of it). I'll do my best to attend the event this saturday

Me me!

I'm feeling awkward writing this. I'm rubbish in terms of marketing anywhere. Maybe that's the way to do it.

I created an English tech account @codelikeamother, exposed through https://Engrave.website on https://codelikeamother.uk.

Currently I'm sharing more about the AWS DeepRacer. I'm not writing very often since it's very time consuming, and I have a separate one in Polish for tech, and one for my Mom, and this one, and the WordPress one, and a job, and kids, and wife, and so many other excuses.

But I do hope you'll find Code Like A Mother worthy your support.

You should probably try and build a following on the other account, you are currently following nobody. Were you are Steemfest 3?

Coming from Poland, I would be surprised if you were not. Something in my mind tells me you know @hashcash?

You are my last pick, as I have heard great things about your Rye bread. You had better feed me some if we meet at the next fest! (@toofasteddie, I'm done now!)

I met @hashcash in Krakow in August, I wasn't able to come to SteemFest sadly.

Bread is guaranteed. Maybe one of the London Meetups?

Bread is guaranteed. Maybe one of the London Meetups?

Are you from London or Poland? I don't get to the London ones as I'm from the north and its too far for me. Are you at SteemCamp next weekend?

From Poland, in London :)

I'm not able to make it to many of the meetings. I try to show up every now and then. SteemCamp - one day maybe

It does at times seem to be hard to find things to vote and comment on, or to even get people to leave a comment on a post you make. I myself do not post to often usually only 3 or 4 times a week, this week and the last few days being somewhat of an exception.

Don't get me wrong, I do like the vote trail votes, and the random votes that I get on occasion, but like for most people having a little bit of interaction would be nice. I know I am guilty of not always commenting on a post I read and enjoy, some times it is the burn-out of the days previous commenting. Sometimes it is I just do not feel like grabbing the keyboard just using the mouse..

I would welcome your comments and support after all we are all here posting commenting and interacting hoping to grow not only our accounts but the steem eco-system also, and trying to make steem what we want not what some corporation wants it to be. I still think steem has great potential to be a new form of social media, and if it fails perhaps some who saw a new vision will build it back up.

Any way to cut to the chase, I mostly have been playing with my camera and posting about my photo hunts, and pictures. I mostly hang out in the #mountainmonday crowd, (as we have lots of mountains here), the #wednesdaywalk because it is simple and uncomplicated, #featheredfriday, because I do like looking at birds and trying to get a non blurry shot even if I do not know the proper name of the birds, and sometimes I find a boulder to post on #bouldersunday.

I never just put the picture up and walk away from it letting it stand on it's own. Sometimes, like now if I am slightly bored I have a tendency to ramble on and on. Lots of new and real and smaller accounts participate in those above tags, a few minimal participation, but most by far like to talk about their walk or their picture, and they are from all over the world. have a good day and enjoy some mountain views or walks about towns and country sides, maybe catch a bird sitting on a boulder, you just never know with those tags above.

It can be hard to keep interested at times posting on the blockchain. I do too, but then I feel like I'm missing out.

I can see you make the effort and have sent you a vote on your @curie post. If @curie have found you then you have something. Number 3 of 5 (@toofasteddie).

It's nice finding a few tags that have real people, and very few bots. No real rewards for the posters in those tags, some random sbi's or other rewards from the tag creators, and a lot of resteems from them. But it all boils down to people not bots, so pretty nice. Thank you for the follow and votes, I hope you find more content to view and read.

I love the idea of this post, and will look through those i follow and regularly interact with and see who fits into that criteria and add some recommendations, but off hand I could suggest
@dswigle

@dswigle has well over 500 SP -- which is understandable, because she creates lovely content. In fact, she's one of those I've invited to join our group -- but although the DM message I left her in Discord has been there for over a week, I haven't had a reply ... and I just haven't had time to accost her in public. (But that's on my list.) Also -- we just got our computers up and running again after a 7+ hour outage (long story ... not interesting) ---> so I'm behind today ... and today is just getting started. Story of my life.

If you read this @dswigle ... Life (and TSE) are calling. "Can you hear me now?" (Sounds like that horrible ad from a few years back.)

I thought i had misread your post, but maybe you made a typo as you said
The criteria I’m asking for is numerous in one way (< 5000 STEEM) hence why I thought of her
She has been busy this last week and focusing on SteemUSA community which her and I are trying to get more active and running well so she may not have seen the DM

Sorry to hear you had computer issues but glad to hear there working now

Maybe I should just start this whole day over. (Can I do that?) I think I misread this original post -- and got it mixed up with the 10K Minnows Project that was a deal SC was working on not far back. Sorry for the confusion. My fault. (The computer issues fried part of a document I was writing and hadn't saved yet. So, now I get to write it over. You know how much fun that is!! ---> while multi-tasking in about four directions at once. So far, that's the extent of my day.)

NO need for sorry you have a lot going on, Ohh no to losing a document and having to start from scratch that is so frustrating for sure

Ya, non-Dolphin is my criteria. I'm interested in producing the medium fish, as well as the little ones.

I heard and joined! Thank you! Totally a win for me!!

I know of @dswigle, but why is she not reacting to @enchantedspirit's call? It's a big win for her if she's part of @thesteemengine.

It's a big win for all of us. I hope we catch up with each other.

Curious, this afternoon I was thinking to write a similar post, looking for someone to support and follow...Sometimes it is difficult.

Posted using Partiko iOS

Finding good ones is proving a real challenge. People who are really new to it I mean, not the core ones. It might be that there simply are none out there. I get tired of searching sometimes...

I get tired of searching sometimes ...

Oh, man, tell me about it!!!

Look, if you find someone relevant to follow/support in the range of <500 SP let me know...What do you think? I would do the same.

As you were on the same wavelength I can do that.., maybe in a follow-up post. I don't know how else I can let you know.

A Follow-up post as @steevc does works perfectly but also a comment in any post can work as well.
Have a look to the blog of this mate: @mrhill
Very interesting IMO

Aw come one? Not a fan of our lord the savior? :')

Sorry, I just had to make a bit of fun with that.

I'll visit the accounts you've listed above and give them some love as well ;)

Looking for Non-Abusers and Good Writers

I think we're all in the same boat here, you'd think with a far amount of active users on Steemit, it wouldn't be so hard. Just shows how much public education is needed to get more people to churn out some decent stuff. Sigh

maybe i need to follow more people, have been keeping it under 60. broaden my horizons, get out and see the world:)

You should..., the core people tend to be the same ones and we don't get many new ones now. That bothers me.

In before somebody pops in and give the whole schpill about "quality is subjective".

Well, if you can't churn out what this particular "curator" likes, then you won't get his votes.

Well, if you can't churn out what this particular "curator" likes, then you won't get his votes.

Semi-true, I would prefer to follow five peeps who regularly get in old buildings in the north-west of England, and detail their adventures.. but on a platform its just not gonna happen is it?

When your stake is big enough, they will bend.
