Steemit Inc have halted their full powerdown.
The last topic specific State of Steem Forum on Thursday is all about Steem Commerce.
And a dog called Milo desparately needs help.
Steemit Inc Stops Powerdown
Steemit Inc have halted the full powerdown of 42 million Steempower that they started after the HardFork 21 proposal.
Executive Chair Ned Scott mentioned that he and the Steemit Inc Board were looking at ending the powerdown during an interview on MSP Waves last Thursday.
To the relief of much of the community the brakes have been put on the full powerdown.
Steemit Inc are now just running the much smaller powerdown of approximately 3 million SP for the regular programmatic selling of Steem.

State of Steem Forum #7 - Thursday 7 February, 8pm - 11pm UTC
The State of Steem Forum #7 on Thursday covers Steem Commerce. The forum will be looking at ways to encourage businesses to take payments in STEEM / SBD, and at the current state of steem in commerce. The forum runs from 8pm - 11pm UTC / 3pm - 6pm EST on MSP Waves.

TARC needs help
Tazewell Animal Rescue Center in Virginia, USA has hit hard times and is appealing for emergency funding help from the Steem community.
Founder of the Center and well known Steemian @rhondak gives details in the latest @tarc post of how frozen pipes has caused a major problem.
On top of that resident guardian dog Milo has been badly injured during the course of his duties which leaves the center with the added burden of large veterinary bills.
TARC, Milo and Rhonda would all be extremely grateful for any donations big or small...

Thank you all so much--everyone who has contributed for Milo's care. He's home from the hospital tonight and resting quietly. The vet had to basically sew his face back onto his head. It had degloved from his skull. But the wound already shows signs of healing, and the prognosis is excellent. I'll keep everyone posted!
That sounds like very good progress. What sort of size vet bills will this leave you with?
It was over $500. He still has to go back next week for follow-up care.
Very beautiful updates and I will be listening to the show on Thursday. Hoping the halt in power down will lead to an increase in the value of steem and encourage or bring more newbies on board the platform
