Random Japan #35 :: The Dark Side of the Samurai

Random Japan!
Does this guy look familiar? I am not much of a collector, but I really love this design. A bit of a steep price, otherwise I might be tempted to pick him up. Good think I'm not a collector, because things like this aimed at the collecting geek are constantly released.
I would have made this a monochrome shot, but I wanted to preserve the ugly color of the building. By the look of it this must be new. But why in the world would they have picked these two shades of green, then red to contrast it with for the sign board? Yuck. Love the name though: Zip Drugs.
Finally we come to a portion of one of the Okazaki Castle walls. This is from one of the outer moats, if you want to be exact. The walls are over 500 years old! I'm sure they have been strengthened in modern times, but even so, the fact that they have lasted so long shows the wonderful engineering. Tetris—old school! Tetris using very very very heavy stones, that is.

This ZipDrug thing definitely stands out by its ugliness. I like the punch you gave to the picture though, I am feeling this might the based on the same velvia preset you used for the flowers yesterday. Oh, and thanks for the mention by the way!
