We Found An Abandoned Town
Hi I'm Danny! I'm travelling around the world! Follow my posts.
On day three we walked over to the Dois Rios Praia on the other side of the island. There is a trail which cuts right through the rainforest. It's a good couple of hours walk, but there's lots to see on the way.
When we arrived we found a strange ghost like abandoned town with not a single person in sight. The buildings were all derelict and overgrown.
There was an eery atmosphere as we walked around looking for signs of life. The main building at the end of the town looks like a prison and we guessed that it might be the main area where prisoners were locked up. Unfortunately there were no locals around to confirm this!
After walking through the abandoned town we came out on to the beach which is known as Two Rivers.
There are two rivers here on either side of the beach that both join at the sea, which gives it its name. There was not a soul on the beach except for an old guy selling coconuts and cold beers. We really felt like we were in paradise.
