Swimming with Caiman 😨😨😨❗❗❗
Hi I'm Danny! I'm travelling around the world! Please Follow me
In my last post I arrived in The Pantanal. The journey continues here on horseback. The residents of Pantanal (known as Pantaneiro's) are famous for their cowbody culture. Cattle farming still makes up a huge part of their lifestyle and in fact provides more income to the area than tourism.
The Pantaneiros must move very often - they could almost be considered nomadic. When the rain comes they travel huge distances with all their cattle. When the dry season returns, so do they.
I spent huge amounts of my time travelling up and down the waterways in my canoes. The waterways are teeming with Yacare Caiman.
Whilst males of this particular subspecies can grow to 8 ft long, they are not considered fatally dangerous to humans...
The wet season is particularly hot and humid and canoeing down the river with the relentless sun can sometimes get too much. In this situation we figured there was only one thing for it....
This is so awesome what you are doing. I'm seriously envious and I wish I could just pack up and go travelling... Great pictures!
I would love to feel the rush when swimming with these creatures.
Im sure they are an inquisitive bunch and circle like sharks.
Can't wait to read about your next stop.🙋
Been to the Pantanal 2 weeks ago - it was brutally cold then ;)
Fucking madness in the water with those things.
If you continue swimming with these caimans I hope this won't be your last post ;) Good luck ! Love it !
you look to be having great adventures.
how do you manage to always keep travelling?
It would be so hard for me to just go like that.
