After yesterdays trip to the perfectly blue caves of the Gruta do Lago Azul we all wanted to visit somewhere where we could get back into the water. Of course Bonito offers lots of opportunities for this.

We decided to go underwater cave diving in Abismo. To get into the cave required abseiling down 70 metres. You are immediately struck by the size of the cave as it opens out.

Once in the cave the you notice the weird and eery atmosphere, an almost alien structure of stalactites and stalagmites.

The pool itself is 80 metres deep. In this environment you can hear a pin drop.

It was about ten years since I'd taken my open water PADI course and to be quite honest I couldn't really remember what I was doing. Once in the cave we got into our kit and descended into the water. At the start I couldn't get the hang of the buoyancy but after a while I got used to it. There were animal bones and all sorts of weird things at the bottom of the cave.

Underwater cave diving is incredibly sketchy! It's different to the coral reef dives I've done in the past because it's so incredibly dark.

After a half day in the cave we did a tour on a dinghy before abseiling back out.

That looks amazing! I'd love to do that one day

Me too. I wish I win the lottery soon! lol

if there is a will there is a way...

I agree with you

Wow! Amazing!

Wow! This looks amazing, thank you for sharing your adventure with us. Everything about this seems sketchy to me (obviously it isn't). Pretty amazing to see what lies beneath the surface of our Earth. I see the man made dock/platform there...is this a place others frequent often, or are their guides that take groups of people down for a dive? Also I would imagine the water is pretty cold down there!

Thanks for sharing your adventures!
Looks like an awesome place to explore, although it does require some advanced skills. I'd love to go but it would be hard to bring the kids and we always travel as a family. Guess it will have to wait till the kids are bigger.

Wow this looking so amazing and a little bit scary as well :) I love diving and I can imagine it completely different to reef diving. Last time I was diving in Tip of Borneo. Beautiful as well <3

wow amazing picture and very beautiful @dannystravels. i like it so much. i think you are great and pro photographer. i believe u have many great posting about photography with best shot and correct angle, waiting for latest post. Let's waking to my blog I have some beutiful photos on my wall.

What you're doing is amazing Danny. I'm really curious, does Steem fund your travels? I would love to do something similar, and bitcoin is worth double in some parts of South America. ;)

really? why is it worth double?
just followed u, please follow back

Well in Argentina for instance, the government has restrictions on sending or taking money out of the country. So bitcoin is very useful for such purposes. The last I checked you can sell your bitcoin for a lot more over there, for the local currency of course.

so ppl with bitcoin could take a bitcoin holiday and sell up lol

Pretty much! I guess it's like that anyway with currency isn't it, you can go abroad to a poorer country and your money is worth 10x!

Great content danny! I'm living in Africa through your post. I'll post my great experiences soon over from instagram. Followed and upvoted. Thanks for the good stuff. Hope to see you soon!

واضح انه كان يوم مميز و رائع
