Playing the Sims: Little Steem Divas and Cake

Victoria, and Jack Steem are my Sim Girl legacy challenge Sims. If you are not familiar with the challenge you can find it at Sim Legacy Challenge. This challenge is to basically start your Sim out on a huge lot, with little to no money, and then play the household for 10 generations on this land. There are many stipulations, and rules for the challenge. You can find these rules by following the link.

I have been raising a bunch of girls here on the Steem farm…. One of the sneaky divas had some cake in their inventory!

Each member of your Sim family will have an inventory. Even the toddlers have an inventory. When the toddler takes their food from the counter, they will place it in their inventory, go to sit down, and then eat the food. If they are interrupted while they are eating, the food is placed again in their inventory.

If you don’t look in their inventory, you will not know when one of them is hording cake. Sometimes this is nice because the toddler is hungry. Other times this is not good, like when the food has spoiled. Spoiled food will make a Sim sick.

It took me a few tries, but I got a good picture of the three girls together. Joy is the youngest. She is the angelic one. Josette is in the middle, and Angelica is on the right. I love how Angelica is talking, and the other two are watching intently.

Now that Angelica and Josette are getting older, they have more communication skills. They can now talk about princesses, and other topics of interest to little Sim girls. They do not have many toys, so both the twins have been building their imagination skills. Sometimes they talk about worlds they have created.

During the day, I send them outside to play. Sometimes they play with their toys, and sometimes they play in the plants. The more they learn how to talk, the more they want to talk to Jack while he’s gardening, and to each other.

Joy is cute. When she has nothing to do, she will just start dancing. @snook asked me how I take care of all these children. To me it is easy. I guess, because I have been playing the game for so long.

One of my rules is not to fast forward. If something happens while you are in fast forward, you will not have time to intervene. And, that’s if you notice it happen at all. For example, the repo man can come take your stuff, without you noticing the bills were overdue.

Not only does the fast forward go too fast to intercede when needed, it will fast forward the life of the Sim, and they will be older faster. If you fast forward the game a lot, you will have missed most of the Sim’s life. So, even when it is boring, I keep the game on normal speed.

Toddlers are great resources of fun. When Jack and Victoria’s fun meters are low, they can grab a kid and start playing with them by spinning them around, and play airplane.

This play interaction, also builds the relationship between the Sims. When playing a Sim legacy game, the first generation will be the hardest to play, because of the low funds, and the commitment to producing at least one offspring to continue the legacy. Finding fun things to do at home can be a challenge day after day.

You can give the parents a nice woo-hoo if you can find the time. That always seems to bring their fun levels back to green.

The harvests for the flowers are now in the hundreds, and are finally showing some money for all the hard work. The stack of Chrysanthemums sold for over $600 alone.

When jack was done harvesting and selling for the day, the household funds were close to $2,000. With three children and two adults, it was time to think ahead, and add another bathroom. A couple more harvests like that, and they will be able to add another bedroom, and some porches to the house.

With the harvest money today, I could expand the house, add another bathroom, and close off the master bedroom. (Most of it, I couldn’t afford the master bedroom door.)

The children are still crammed into one bedroom, but they don’t seem to mind.

Victoria used her family leave, and the day’s pay went toward electric. I had been playing them for a long time, without realizing that there were no lights in the girls’ bedroom.

Once I began adding more rooms, I could see how dark it was inside at night. Now the house is all lit up.

I am wishing they could afford a television, now that they have a couch to sit on. But, it will still take some effort, before they will see any modern technology in this home.

Victoria went into labor in the middle of the night. At 1:11 am- make a wish!

I wish for a boy!!!!!!

Victoria is such a pro at this now, she didn’t even wake anyone up. She simply got up, and left for the hospital by herself, while Jack and the girls were still sleeping.

It was not a boy!

I had to look up the cast of Dark Shadows to find another girl name. To be honest I did not have a boy’s name picked out either. That’s how much faith I had that Victoria would give birth to a boy; like I had hoped.

I assume the staff or computer program trying to mess up my legacy challenge thinks I need a boy for an heir, but I made it, so any gender can be the heir.

Ha ha.

I hope you have learned more about how to play the Sims, and the Sims 4 legacy challenge. Josette, and Angelica will be growing up soon, and starting school. Then, they will be able to take their own baths, and help around the house more.

They will also be able to start building their skills!
