Playing the Sims: What do Sims Do on Their Day Off?

The Steemit Roommates have been working hard to build their skills, and move up in the Sim world.

Sally Steemit has reached level three of the social media career track, Sharyn has reached level three in the critic career track, and Stanley has reached level two of the tech guru career track. He has all the requirements to be promoted, and his job performance is excellent.

This is the first weekend I have been able to play the Steemit roommates. They all are off work this Sunday, so it is a good time to get them out of the apartment. They also, get to sleep in. I’m going to see if we can cook some breakfast without starting a fire today.

Toilet

Stanley made some eggs for breakfast. This gave him the level two cooking skill. Sharyn used the bathroom, and the toilet broke again. Sally did not get into the bathroom yet, so I’m hoping she doesn’t have an accident before Stanley can repair the toilet. It is too bad she can’t run across the hall and use the neighbor’s bathroom.

The Steemit roommates seem to be building their relationships. They will need to spend more time together to be closer friends. I think they need a day out. I might just leave this mess for later and take them out.

Clean

I couldn’t stand the thought of having that toilet running water all over the floor while they went out. The Steemit roommates are good little Sims, and get the mess cleaned up before noon. Poor Stanley pinched his finger repairing the toilet, so he will feel that pain with a red uncomfortable buff, for a few more hours.

There is a flea market is in town today. The Steemit roommates all have the city native aspiration, that will require them to eat the food from the vendors, meet people around the city, and collect the festival tee-shirts. In the City Life expansion, you can read about the festivals by clicking on the note board in the hallway of your Sim’s apartment. The board will be highlighted when a festival is in town.

Invite

The Sim’s acquaintances will also call your Sims, and ask them to go to the festivals, or in this case, the flea market. You will have the options of going alone, bringing friends, or declining the invite. When you select bring some friends, you will be redirected to the relationship screen where you can select the Sims you want to travel with to the event.

Since the flea market is right outside their door, I must use the group action to send them out of the apartment, and to the flea market. I did this by selecting sit together on a table by the vendors at the flea market.

Vendors

The Steemit roommates all have the city native aspiration. They will all need to take steps towards their life goal, of being “in the know”, and they will all be ordering from the vendors at the flea market to do that.

For this step toward their life goal, the Steemit roommates need to introduce themselves to city natives, give a friend an apartment key, and order from the vendors three times.

I’m not sure we can trust their current neighbors with a key to their apartment. A Sim must be at least friends with another Sim, to open the action of giving away an apartment key.

Hoops

The group had fun playing basketball. This activity raises all their fitness skills.

The goal of this outing is to buy something at the flea market. Sally and Stanley bought something, but the goal was not complete. It took me a minute to realize that it was Sharyn who started the outing, so it would need to be her, who buys something at the flea market to complete the event.

Buy

With just minutes left to the outing, Sharyn ran over to one of the flea market tables, and purchased an old lamp to complete the outing goal before the time ran out. So now they have a few items they will probably sell, because they really don’t need them.

Market

The Steemit roommates did not do all the things they could do at the flea market, but they did have a good time.

They met new people, eat good food, bought some junk, and played some ball. I’d say that’s a pretty nice day out. Now they can return home and relax as the Sunday winds down, and they get ready for another work week.

Samosa

Sharyn reached level three in writing and then made some Samosa for dinner. The roommates are not used to spicy food. They are all feeling uncomfortable, and are talking about needing some Pepto-Bismol. The notification explains that if the Sims eat spicy food more often, the will acquire a taste for it, and can eat is easier. Sally learned the recipe by eating the food made by Sharyn.

Noise

Sunday ended with the neighbors playing loud music at 10:30 pm. Stanley once again had to tell them to keep it down. The kitchen sink needs repair this time, and having only one bathroom is getting old quickly.

But Monday will be a bright day for them, because they all have reached the skill levels needed to be promoted. Hopefully soon they will have the household funds to move out of this apartment building and live with the gnomes and pixies.

I hope you have learned a little more about the activities in the City Life expansion of the Sims 4. There will be more festivals, and more Sundays to dig in the neighborhood trash for the Steemit roommates, as they live in the big city. As they increase their incomes, they will be able to go to fancier businesses in the city, and afford a more comfortable lifestyle.

But, for now they will work their hardest to increase their household funds, and try to deal with the obstacles of an inexpensive way of life.
