Playing the Sims: Labor Day!!!
Victoria, and Jack Steem are my Sim Girl legacy challenge Sims. If you are not familiar with the challenge you can find it at Sim Legacy Challenge. This challenge is to basically start your Sim out on a huge lot, with little to no money, and then play the household for 10 generations on this land. There are many stipulations, and rules for the challenge. You can find these rules by following the link.
By meeting the nanny in the park, Victoria has been made immortal, and after this happened, I created the Sim Girl- Dark Shadows Challenge…

Begin by starting the legacy challenge, meet the nanny in the park, that gives your Legacy Sim the immortal buff while a young adult. Create an adult spouse for your legacy Sim. Get the legacy Sim pregnant. Turn the spouse into a vampire before they reach the elder stage of life.
Once your spouse is a vampire, make a coffin for them to sleep in the basement, send them to hibernate, and then remove any stairs, so that they are buried. (This part has not been tested yet.)
Continue to live out the legacy challenge for 10 generations….
I thought Victoria would make it through one more day of work, but as soon as she left, she was right back because she has gone into labor. She decided to go to the hospital to have the baby.
When your Sim goes into labor, you will have the option to either send your Sim alone, or join them at the hospital. I selected join, and then selected Jack to go to the hospital with her.
While Victoria was being checked in by the front desk, Jack took this opportunity to research vampires on the computer there. By looking up vampire secrets, he could select the search for information on vampires. He unlocked vampire tome 1. He can now purchase the first volume of the Vampire Encyclopedias online with a computer.
Victoria gave birth to a bouncing baby girl. I was glad it was a girl because I had already had the name Angelica picked out. Victoria looks like she is in a lot of pain. But the doctor pulled the baby out with the robot claws, and they were both fine.
Oh, except she was still in labor! Victoria had another bouncing baby girl. Since I did not expect twins, and did not have a name for two babies, I gave her the name Jossett, which of course is from the Dark Shadows movie, except I spelled it wrong. Her name should be spelled Josette, but we can change it later.
After the babies are born, they are placed in a bassinet. When you have twins, your second baby will be placed in another bassinet. Now I am curious to know if I really had to spend money on a bassinet, or if they would have just provided one for me once the baby was born.
After Victoria gives birth to twins, she is dressed, pretty and ready to greet the one baby she can reach. For some reason the other baby is kept in another room.
But, when she comes home, she is dressed in her hospital clothes again, so not sure what happened after we left the hospital…
But the baby girls are fine.
After Victoria had a moment with the new babies at the hospital, the entire family is automatically delivered back at home. Victoria and Jack are placed by the sidewalk to the home, and the babies are placed inside the home, awake and hungry.
After a bit of fussing, everyone is happy. I saved the game, so we didn’t have to do all of that again!
In the Sims 4, babies are placed in a bassinet for the first year. After their first year, they will grow into toddlers. In other versions of the game, the toddler would sleep in a crib until they grew out of the toddler stage.
Now, the toddlers will sleep in children’s beds, so there is no need to go from bassinet to crib, to bed.
In Sim time a year is about one day, so it will not be long before these girls will be crawling around.
To provide for toddlers in the Sims 4, you will need to have the beds, as well as a bathtub to bathe them.
I pulled the walls to make more room for the new Steems, but Victoria and Jack will need to play the lotto, or something, because I don’t see this happening!
I hope you have learned a little more about how to play the Sims game, and what to expect if your Sim is having a baby.
@snook and I have a theory that the game developers know what you are trying to achieve, and then mess you up on purpose. This challenge, has just gotten a little more challenging. Can’t say the game is boring though.
