Are you one of those people that likes cooking and taking photos of your cooking creations? Well than this post might be for you. Food photography has many aspects that need to be taken into consideration to get the best looking image possible. A few of this aspects are food photography angles, decoration, camera settings, background styles and others. If you are looking for tips that will make your photos stand out from the rest than read through this post.
Front shot
When doing a front shot of the of the food the camera needs to positioned at the height of the food and a little bit in front of it.
Diagonal position of object
This angle is almost like the front shot with a little difference. Food on this photo was positioned diagonally while the camera was not tilted. Camera was placed a little bit in front and a little bit above the object in a manner that the object stretches from one corner to the other.
Camera tilted to the right
To get a good tilted shot of food you want to place your camera in front of the food and about 20 inches above the food. Tilt your camera slightly to the right according to what looks good to you.
Camera tilted to the left
To get a good tilted shot of food you want to place your camera in front of the food and about 20 inches above the food. Tilt your camera slightly to the left according to what looks best to you.
Shot from the top
When doing a shot from the top the camera needs to be positioned above the object aiming at 90 degrees down toward the product. Shot from top is generally pleasing to the eye because it creates a different perspective of the object.
Close up
When doing a close up, zoom the lens to position where the food takes majority of the photo.
Close up can be done shooting from top, from front or with the camera tilted slightly to left or right.
