"What Other Social Media Platforms Do You Still Use? Why?" 30 Days Writing Challenge - Day 18
For the majority of us, we've used social media for a decade. We've gotten use to our lives with social media, and this has become a habit. After joining Steemit and investing our time and energy in the platform and the relationships we've developed here, natrually, the time and energy spent on other platforms decreases, but it's hard to just cut the cord on those other "relationships," even if they aren't beneficial for us.

I'm sure that I'm not alone in saying that I still use other social media networks. @Dragosroua is challenging Steemians to a 30-Day Writing Challenge. For day #18, he asks, "What Other Social Media Platforms Do You Still Use? Why?" Here's my response:
The Other Social Media Platforms I Still Use and Why
I still use other social media platforms with disdain. As a writer and content marketer (here comes an excuse), part of my job is to manage social media accounts outside of Steemit, so I also have to maintain my own social media profiles. Here are the platforms I personally still use and why:
LinkedIn: I work with small businesses and entrepreneurs, and you know what? Nearly all of them are on LinkedIn. I also like the professional nature of the platform and how you can avoid trolls and other issues associated with other networks. I've written over 200 articles on LinkedIn, and this has helped me build an audience and make some beneficial relationships. It also helps when I'm working with a new client -- to showcase my skills and experience.
Twitter: Since using Steemit and getting involved in cryptocurrencies, I have actually started using Twitter more. Something I do daily is look for airdrops -- cryptocurrencies that are willing to give away a small amount of their tokens in exchange for help marketing on social media or through content. Twitter, Facebook, and Telegram are often a required part of the tasks that need to be completed to earn these coins.
Facebook: I rarely use my account, but I still post occassionally. It's my one connection to my friends and family, so it's hard to completely disconnect from it.
Telegram: I learn about projects, apply for airdrops, and communicate with the teams behind the projects I love on Telegram. It's a great tool.
Discord: This is all Steemit related, but I love Discord. It's a great place to communicate with the communities that you're a part of on Steemit, off of Steemit.

Same reasons here!
Twitter: Mostly cryptocurrencies and some other news.
Facebook: I almost dont use it but check it from time to time.
Telgram: Same and I also use it to chat with friends.
Discord: Steem and gaming related (mostly steem).
Instagram: This is probably the only one that I use frequently just for osio. I dont post too often but is a nice way to see what my friends are doing, hang out and see some nice pics (and memes xD).
Thanks for sharing! I really like Telegram and Discord, I just don't know if I'd use them without following cryptos or being engaged with Steemit.
