January 2017 30 Days Writing Challenge -Reporting Day 1

in #challenge308 years ago (edited)

A series of repetitive, conscious choices is eventually melting into a habit.

Like promised, here I am with the first compilation of the articles participating in the 30 days writing challenge. As you already guessed from the first sentence of this article, the goal of the challenge is to instill the habit of writing. Steemit is, primarily, a content based platform, and if you want to produce quality content consistently, you should start by being able to produce content consistently. Period.

I was pleasantly surprised by the number of people entering this challenge and I hope many more will join. It's a good way to keep yourself accountable, to improve your writing skill and to meet new people.

The articles presented here don't have any rankings attached, they are presented almost randomly, like I find them by searching after the challenge30 tag. If your article doesn't appear under that tag, although you tagged it, leave a comment and I'll include it. Also please keep in mind that I'm on EET, which is Greenwhich + 2, and that may mean that many of your posts will appear before or after what I consider "today".

Without further ado, let's start:

  1. Happy New Years, Steemians from Steemit - by @smysullivan
  2. Who haven't tried a fresh young coconut water? January 1, 2017 - by @immarojas
  3. Runaway Rhymes: Can't Do This Anymore - by @hopehuggs
  4. Let The Rest Of This Year Be The Best Of Your Year - by @ervin-lemark
  5. Essential Skills In Life - Patience - by @sstefan

  13. New Year’s Eve - Written an hour into the New Year - by @michelle.gent
  14. Make A Plan. And Stick To It - and my own contribution to this challenge.

At the moment of writing this report, there were a number of 24 articles tagged challenge30, with 182 comments and a total of 244.991 SBD in payouts.

Good luck to all the writers and keep up the good work!

This project is part of my witness activities here on Steemit. I think a witness should not only maintain the technical and economical components of the platform, but he should also get involved at a community level and improve as many processes as he can.

If you want to know more about the rules of the chalenge here's the introductory article. There are also a few tips to help you stay on the track.

I'm a serial entrepreneur, blogger and ultrarunner. You can find me mainly on my blog at Dragos Roua where I write about productivity, business, relationships and running. Here on Steemit you may stay updated by following me @dragosroua.

I believe this post was also tagged as Challenge30 :)

Btw, I appretiate what you are doing with this challenge and it definatley will help me advance my literary skills.

I voted for you as a witness.

Yeap, definitely, but as I said, I'm on a different time zone. Right now, it's 11:57 where I am, and the post you talk about was published "9 hours ago". So it will be included in the next report. You already have a post included in this report, right, the Cognitive Dissonance poem.

Thank you for your witness vote, appreciate it :)

Okay, So were im at it is almost 6 am, monday.
If I post around 3 today does it get included in your next report?

A short and quick calculation indicates that it will be at the limit between Monday and Tuesday. But the one you pointed me above, in this comment, will be included for sure in tomorrow's report.

hmm...so what time to post so I can be included?
Its easier that way to stay on track

You just post when you feel like, I will scan the tags and include all the posts that qualify (i.e. properly tagged). Just focus on your routine, not on the inclusion in these reports.

Thank you for the update. Hoping this gets more people involved. As well as builds my commitment to writing.

Going to look at all the articles later that are posted. I'm glad there are several people getting involved.

There are already quite a few people involved, it took me a good hour to write this report, going through all the links, etc. It's nice that people are showing commitment. :)
