"Sheath Up!" - Stealth Water Methanol Injection - [SH2OMI] - Update 4.04.2018
Hello Folks,
Massive apologies for the delay in SH2OMI progress; loads of family stuff been getting in the way of late but I have been managing to do bits here and there.
Since the the last post "Resist The Pressure!", I've tested the yellow hose re-inforcement sheathing on the PVC tubing between the pump and the solenoid. I do have raw video footage but I've not uploaded an edited version to the interwebs. Also, I've ordered and fitted a 90 degree push-fit connector directly after the manifold pipe push-fit bulkhead as available space for a slowly curving water feed tube wasn't an option. I also added a short length of that redundant black silicone tubing to both the boost feed tubing and water/methanol feed tubing as a guide for the corrugated sheathing that will hide all the pipework under the bonnet (extra stealth ;)
I began to fit the sheathing over both tubes connected to the intake manifold and tidied up with some black PVC tape.
In addition, I will be sourcing the power for the pump and solenoid directly from the battery and so I've added another 'fork' to the sheathing for this purpose. I also roughly measured the required amount of sheathing to get to the firewall grommet and shortened it accordingly. Both tubes are still currently 'over-long' until full fitment under the scuttle is carried out.
I added a short section of sheathing to hide the 'shiny bits' between the push-fit bulkhead connector and the 90 degree connector.
The power wire was too short for the sheathing (using whatever has been available without purchasing more stuff)......
......so I finished the wiring portion of this little exercise today with crimping a couple of connectors (black wire in, red wire out) and lengthening the wiring to suit; complete with a tidied up sheath-end.
Sorry this project is taking far longer that planned folks; it's amazing how much detail is required for such a relatively simple project just to get everything looking and working properly. Hopefully we are on the final stretch now :)
Bye for now folks,
