Plan 'B' - Stealth Water Methanol Injection - [SH2OMI] - Update 23.02.2018
Hello Steem Meisters,
I suppose it was only a matter of time before something went wrong with the progress of the SH2OMI. It's my own fault though, I should have properly measured up the component placement and bracket for locating under the scuttle. I think it might be possible to re-locate the solenoid and boost switch within the existing bracket and remove unnecessary aluminium plate material to prevent the bracket fouling on the bottom of the scuttle cavity. Another option is to remake a new bracket in possibly a long, narrow design for the various components and fit it to the underside of the plastic ventilation cover (not shown in the picture below) for maximum stealth and weather protection.
Also, the big plus of having the permanent 12v live source for the switch panel in the dashboard wasn't replicated under the bonnet. I was hoping that the windscreen wiper motor also had a live 12v line and only switched on the negative side but this wasn't to be. I removed the connector for the wiper motor and had the ignition 'on' but no 12v was found :( So it looks like I'll have to go for the less stealthy feed straight from the battery.
So to sum up folks, I'll be needing to spend more time tweaking the design before a successful installation can be done. As always folks,....... watch this space.
