Double Shot (Little Buddy) is a 9.6% coffee stout brewed by the Tree House Brewing Company in Monson, Massachusetts. I have tried many different beers from Tree House and they are always top notch. Tree House is a small batch craft brewer specializing in fine New England style IPAs. They do produce stouts, porters and a variety of other styles of beers, but the juice bombs like their Julius, Green, and Haze are what made Tree House become the legend that it is today. Unfortunately you can't find Tree House beers at your local liquor store, you need to travel to the brewery itself and wait in a long line in order to score any of this liquid gold. But it sure is worth it! Double Shot (Little Buddy) is a rich and roasty coffee stout made with coffee beans from Olympia Coffee Company in Olympia, Washington.

The Bottle

Double Shot (Little Buddy) is served in a 500 ml glass bottle. It features a magenta label with a couple of people enjoying coffee beneath an umbrella. The back of the label says the following:

This bottle of Double Shot was conceived in commemoration of the Autumn season to showcase an inspirational blended coffee from our friends at Olympia Coffee in Washington. The base beer is especially rich, providing a sturdy platform for a flavor profile that exhibits notes of chocolate, stone fruit, molasses, and sweet fresh roasted coffee. No particular flavor dominates, lending to a beer that is balanced, enjoyable, and loaded with flavor. It is the best coffee beer we know how to brew. We ask that you enjoy this bottle fresh and use it’s opening as an opportunity to unite with friends in laughter and good cheer.

The Beer

Just look at that beautiful head of foam that formed on top of this beer. The Double Shot (Little Buddy) is unbelievably delicious, which is why it's very close to tallying a perfect score on Untappd. Although it's an expensive beer, it's certainly worth every buck. The rich, coffee flavor mixing with chocolate, stonefruit, marshmallow and graham cracker makes it a perfect stout. I enjoyed this beer during the Christmas season, as you can see by the photos. The Double Shot (Little Buddy) was a great way to spread the holiday cheer. I look forward to trying more beers from Tree House Brewing Company in the future.
