Sap - Tree House Brewing Company

Beer Review

Sap is a 7.3% American IPA brewed by the Tree House Brewing Company in Monson, Massachusetts. I have tried many different beers from Tree House and they are always top notch. Tree House is a small batch craft brewer specializing in fine New England style IPAs. They do produce stouts, porters and a variety of other styles of beers, but the juice bombs like their Julius, Green, and Haze are what made Tree House become the legend that it is today. Unfortunately you can't find Tree House beers at your local liquor store, you need to travel to the brewery itself and wait in a long line in order to score any of this liquid gold. But it sure is worth it! Sap is a piney beer originally brewed as a Christmas special. It's made mostly from Chinook hops and now has become a part of the year-round rotation.

The Can

Sap is served in a full pint can. It features the typical Tree House Brewing Company logo on a fine dark red colored label. I loved the way this beer looked when it was poured into a glass and sitting next to the can. The gold color of the beer contrasted nicely with the red can. When you see a can with a Tree House on it, you know there's going to be good beer inside.

The Beer

The Sap has become a staple of the Tree House Brewing Company beer collection. It's a piney, hoppy American IPA brewed mostly with Chinook hops. It's soft and delightful with earthy tones that harmonize with notes of grapefruit and mango. A delicious IPA and a great showcase of what the Chinook can do. I tried this after experiencing the Sssappp which is an intensified version of the Sap. They both were great. I look forward to trying more beers from Tree House Brewing Company in the future.
