Are you a dreamer? @steembasicincome and SBD to be won!

Are you a dreamer?

While sorting and cleaning up things for our adoptee's son's arrival I found a notebook from January 2014 that I had begun to write down my dreams in, not as in what I dreamt last night but as in what I wanted from my life. The idea behind it was if I didn't know what I wanted, how was I to know how to get it and how would I stay motivated to do the things required to get the things I wanted, again, if they were not clear in my head.

What prompted this dreams writing back in the day?

This question was posed to us by a friend while discussing future possibilities and a business model:

What are five things you would like to do, have or become if you had more time and money?

Now, this is a really simple question, and if you were to ask a child this in a simpler form, you would have a hard time stopping their imagination from running wild with the things they want to do, be or have.

However, ask an adult and for some reason, we have become so content or complacent with the way things are that it's hard to think outside the box we have created for ourselves back to those grand ventures we had planned doing when we were young.

I have always been a bit of a dreamer with grand expectations for my life and to date it's been a pretty wild ride with many ups and some life-changing downs. It wasn't until I played the #tenfactsonelie game started by @traciyork that I realised just how out there my life had been, so much so that all the facts looked like they could be lies due to the extreme nature of many. If you are interested in my truths click HERE.

My dreams and life plan always saw me travelling the world until I was thirty and then settling down, getting married and starting a family. Unfortunately as life does sometimes, the wool was pulled from under my feet and I spent my prime travelling years, in and out of hospital, struggling for life and shattering my dreams in the process.

I recovered from my twelfth and final surgery a few months after my 30th birthday, lucky I had met my future hubby @shai-hulud mid nightmare and I did get married a few years later, starting a family has taken us down a different route to initially planned and taken a lot longer but exciting news, we will be meeting our son in the coming months as we were recently matched with a little man from Thailand.

Back to the point of this post...

For me, being a dreamer with a clear vision in mind of how my life was going to turn out, lost that vision when my dreams were shattered. So thinking of five things outside my original plan was hard, it was only when I realised that I just needed to bend my dreams a little to fit my new reality that I could get past my initial self-block and move onto the real challenge of writing down a hundred.

PicsArt_04-26-12.41.36.png

As you can see even with no road blocks and a healthy imagination I didn't get to a hundred. But I did have to laugh at my appendix’s that goes into more detail regarding travel and my dream home.

I must of ran out of ideas at 75 because I'm claustrophobic and can't think of anything worse than being confined to any small space for an extended period of time. Actually as I was writing these out for you, it was nice to see how many I had achieved and just how many made me laugh out loud.

Dream's clearly need to adapt and change as you do, just as the things you wanted to be, do and have changed from when you were a child. But for some fun can you guess which ones I have achieved? Out of the 76 above I have achieved 15.

YOU CAN WIN

I will guarantee one steem basic income share to one follower that picks at least 5 of the 15 achieved dreams. However, if on the day of payout I am feeling generous, I may pay out up to three.

If someone can pick all 15 I will give them 50% of the SBD generated from this post.

The winners will be announced in a weeks’ time with a summary of what the hell I was thinking when I wrote them and where my thoughts are now.

I look forward to seeing your guesses and as an added incentive, you may want to know I upvote good comments and aim to answer all genuine comments in a timely fashion.

I used to dream like this when I was much younger but it seems everyday comes with it's own waves to drift me ashore. This is the motivation I've been waiting for. I gotta dream again because just like you everyone have their dreams. Nice post and nice dreams you've got there!

Hey @floxycool thanks for stopping by. I'm glad you got some motivation from my post. Dreaming is important for the soul. Don't forget to give the contest a try. You need to guess a minimum of five right to be in the running for the @steembasicincome share.

And to my guesses here:

  • New TV Unit
  • Learn another language
  • Finish my garden beds
  • Learn how to look better / be healthier
  • Have or adopt a baby / children
  • New clothes - shopping in New York with my sister
  • More storage in our home
  • Go on a rewards cruise
  • Take my niece to disney world
  • Volunteer Work / Help Aid
  • Take my brother on Holiday and Leadership Training
  • Maintain a healthy weight at 65kg (Fit & Toned)
  • Parachute - made to order
    I hope I'm correct, lol!

Good guesssing you are in the running for the @sbi share. You got 7 out of the 13 you put down. Note. You can guess again if you want to be in the running for the SBD. You need to get all 15 right.

Really nice and even better when you have dreams that you walk towards. I have a lot of dreams too but have not really taken time to pen then down. Now i guess i have to . Plus there is a funny side to what am thinking you know the movie "act like a lady think like a man" the one in which steve harvy had a book.
That part where all you hear is what are your short term goals?? I could say your dreams are what any man would dreams of but if i am to take 5
I would go outta space
A hot air balloon ride
Buy an island
Travel the world
And the charity stuff probably in Africa.
Plus i think you left out something having a music collaboration with Kamiikazer am a rapper i can let u take the chorus then i do the hooks and the verses. It would get is a Grammy and a billboard ratings of number 1 for a year.
Thanks @insideoutlet i just kept typing you just gave me sight towards my desires.

I'm glad you got some insight into your own dreams while responding to mine. Did you see what you need to guess to have a chance at winning @steembasicincome and or SBD?

Owk
First i think 49
Volunteer /aid
46...learn to bake and decorate
41 finish garden bed
35 talk on stage with husband.
3.... New system setup
2....new tv unit
24...take someone on cruise.
34... family house
1..new bedroom suite.
40... More room space.
50...have or adopt a baby
48... taking pictures and manipulating them.
47...learn to look better and healthier
75...pet a turtle
11....hestons restaurant
Hope its all accurate...@insideoulet.

You have 8 out of the 15 correct. Feel free to guess again, maybe come back and try after some others have guessed, I will let everyone know how many they have right but not which ones are right until the payout post :) Good luck and keep guessing!

Awe, we also adopted our son, and life didn't turn out exactly as planned, but iam very happy with how it did turn out. I don't think we ever stop dreaming, nor should we!

Oh wow, where is your son from @sweetpea. Its amazing how many people actually have adopted or been adopted.

Love your style of writing, it's superb . Spent some time trying to nose around your truths in the link you gave lol. At least I came down with your real name Erin Mitchelle...

Now I have been battling with the almost non ending list of your dreams. I think I need to take a nap to come up with half your list.

Would be awake in say 4hrs time.
@antigenx

Haha feel free to come back and guess later. It's open all week.

Also where did you find my middle name?

Done @insideoutlet . 😋

Haha. Oh my oh my...
I can so relate to this. I scribbled down such almost every other week. Sometimes there are those diaries and note books that, you scribble and when you find them after sometime you just wonder what was running into your mind back then.

I particularly had this one notebook where I'd write my emotions for the day, I had to stop when I re-read it and felt so stupid. Nonetheless it was an amazing experience to see how much growth we acquire with time.

Fantastic read girl!

You should never feel stupid for sharing your emotions, there is real value in noticing the emotion and the related reasons.

I hope you give the guessing game a go. Hope to see you back soon.

Lol. I just might now that you mentioned it. Catch up on the inside :)

Such a cool list of dreams you have, @insideoutlet. I can only guess that you have achieved the one about adopting children which is your boy who is coming to you. But wait, maybe that's not considered because he yet to arrived? Not too sure.... :P will come by tomorrow again to guess another 14, cos my brain is a bit jammed right now.

But hey, 15/76 is such a big achievement!!! I love some of the crazier ones you have. It makes me feel nothing is impossible and you dare to dream, now that's super inspiring. Like the one jumping out of helicopter in Europe.

I saw that you want to climb Mount Kinabalu. That's in my country, though it's at the other side of the sea. If you ever drop by, do let me know!!! :)

Haha, im counting that as complete as its all matched just time now.

We honeymooned on Gaya Island and saw the mountian from our window every morning. I'd love to get back to hike it but with a baby on the way not too sure when.

Yes, in my opinion we have to understand our life dreams because, the secret of our life holds by our life dreams and we have to strive hard to understand it and to find out actually what we want from life, because without knowing we cannot reach to our destination. Thanks for sharing and wishing you an great day. Stay blessed. 🙂

Thanks for stopping by, there are @steembasicincome shares and SBD to be won if your up for the challenge of guessing which of the 76 I have already achieved. :)

Welcome and in my opinion it's sounds great. 🙂

This is a neat "challenge". And congratulations on getting your son. Adoption is such a great thing.
I'm still trying to decide what I want to do when I grow up. ;-) Some days I think I could be happy on my current path for the rest of my career. Other days, I want to end up somewhere completely different. Perhaps I'll achieve multiple career dreams, but it is so easy to accept where we are at right now and never move on to anything bigger, better, or more interesting. Even though, career-wise, I don't have my dreams completely mapped out, I really appreciate your perspective on dreams. We change and so can our dreams. Now, on to the guesses.
-Hot Air Balloon Ride
-Volunteer at Circle-A-Ranch
-Have or adopt a baby/children
-Tattoo redone in Hong Kong
-Take my mother in law on a trip with us

Thanks for stopping by, Some days I thought I could have been happy just me and my hubby but now we have been matched we can't think of life without him.

You have two correct answers above ;) to be in with a chance for the @sbi share you need at least 5 right, for the SBD all of them :) I hope you come back for a second guess :)
