Weekly Report - Visibility Category by Utopian.io [Week 9, 2019]

in #utopian-io5 years ago (edited)

Hello everyone! Have a great new month, let's make it amazing!

Welcome to the sixth Visibility Report for 2019!

Time frame

This report is for contributions during the time frame 21 February until 28 February 2019.

Overview

During the previous week we have seen only one contribution, and as a matter of fact one that was not for a whitelisted project or for a task request.

I will take this opportunity to let you know that for creating and running a successful campaign, rule number one is

You gotta know your product!

If the marketer has no experience and knowledge of the product, then the campaign will result to being bad or mediocre, with little or no conversions and the worst?

You cannot repeat the same messages again and again, there needs to be fresh content, fresh images, fresh messages!

How can you 'get to know' the open source project?

  • Take a few moments to visit the website. This will give you a first idea of the subject, the scope of the project and what cause it serves.
  • Visit the social media channels of the project and notice their tone of voice, the images they use, the reactions/replies of their followers.
  • You can visit a website like alexa or similarweb to track the websites visitors. This will help you see where their traffic comes from and the countries of their visitors.
  • Create some clients categories. Who might be interested to know about this project and use it?
  • Create some messages per clients' categories and .. start forming your strategy!

Ways of Contributing to the Category

  1. If you have a Facebook page or twitter account, you can promote whitelisted open source projects via promoted/paid posts.
  2. If you have social media accounts with more than 10.000 followers, you can write about open source projects and promote them to your followers.
  3. Paid search engine and display ads placement
  4. Follow @utopian-io to be informed if there is a task request for promoting an open source product

What is Utopian? What is the Visibility Category?
Utopian is a Social Platform, aiming to empower professionals for contributing to the Open Source Movement. The Visibility Category aims to shed more light to the whitelisted Open Source Projects and to attract the general attention of end users around the world.
As stated at the website, Open Source is free, common property and developed by volunteers around the world and available for everyone.Contributions in the visibility category are (1) paid search engine and display ads placement; (2) paid social media ads; (3) posts to social media accounts with at least 10,000 unique followers.
Open Source Software often runs in our computer, phone or tablet and its development relies on collective intelligence. All this work is done by the developers for free! Utopian educates, motivates and rewards everyone who contributes to Open Source Projects, provided that certain guidelines are being met.You can click here and select Visibility to read the current guidelines (new ones are being worked upon as we speak). Hi Kate,

I appreciate the effort put in writing. Since there isn't much to say about the category activities, I think the tips you provided for contributors are quite good. Especially, ''How can you 'get to know' the open source project?''

I am glad to see another contributor in the category. I glanced through his contribution, and the feedback you provided. I believe, he should be able to improve and provide better quality contributions.

This report is short, precise and of course, well-illustrated. The point I picked out in the last report still persist. I see you prefer using the sign over the one I suggested.

Thank you! Have a good week.

Please note that while the CM hasn't changed the footer, I am not scoring #iamutopian posts based on the questionnaire. They have their own metric, and that will be the case until we go live with the new guidelines and new questionnaire, which will be comprehensive enough to reflect these types of posts.

Hi Tykee!
Thanks so much for your report :)
You are absolutely correct about the (.) sign .. I keep forgetting that. In Greece we are using the (.) for the thousand mark and the (,) for decimals.
I will try to keep in mind next time.
Happy Sunday and thank you once more!

Thank you for your review, @tykee! Keep up the good work!

Very informative, thank you.

Congratulations! Your post has been selected as a daily Steemit truffle! It is listed on rank 7 of all contributions awarded today. You can find the TOP DAILY TRUFFLE PICKS HERE.

I upvoted your contribution because to my mind your post is at least 11 SBD worth and should receive 150 votes. It's now up to the lovely Steemit community to make this come true.
