Steemit and flagging 🤔🚩
Hello fellow Steemians!
As we all know, Steemit is full of spammers and plagiarists who tend to drown out the smaller users who produce quality content!
Misuse of tags is rampant with the introducemyself tag getting hammered daily with everything but an introductory post.
And last but not least curation bots that usually drop by posts saying "awesome" or "i followed and upvoted, please do the same".
Now i'm sure many of you have thought about doing one of the above, or maybe you are thinking of it right now as you read this post, but mass misuse of the platform will inevitably destroy it.
Not to mention you can make more by just producing good content. look at the likes of @jerrybanfield or @papa-pepper, these guys are raking in the Steem without spamming everything there is to spam...
Now my dear friends, to the point!
I introduce to you, the mighty flag! 🚩
An incredible tool for the use of the righteous in their crusade to smite the heathen spammers! 😁
Or as put by Steemit it's self:
To flag a post that you deem to be misusing steemit, select the flag button in the top right hand side of the post window (see below)
Click on the flag icon and select a percentage of your flag (downvote) to cast onto the post and click on ok.
The flag icon should turn red and the post has sucessfully been flagged, with a weighty enough flag, or many flaggs from diferent users, the post will be hidden from public view and all "profits" from the post will be revoked.
Note: The user was unflagged and upvoted as tags were corrected
Please feel free to help keep the feeds clean by flagging spam, plagiarism and hate speech! 😁 It's up to the individual user to help keep the platform a great place to participate in!
P.S: You can tag me in a comment on posts containg plagiarism, spam, misuse of tags or hate speech and if I deem it to actually be "against the rules" I will also downvote the content.

there are 2 reasons for this:
so be careful when flagging someone and if you are getting in trouble try to find help from people with higher rep then the flagger that are known on Steemit for their vigilance...

Recently I flagged a user who went absolutley ballistic at me for doing so and went on to flag my content and spam my posts, luckily he only had 27 Steem power (initially delegated to you at the beginning) and 25 rep, so his flags had no effect on my posts and comments.
Had said user had a "bigger stick", most of my posts would have had a severe negative impact on my account.
that is exactly what I mean... and even having a 54 rep is not always enough to avoid reprecussions, thats why for the moment I mostly ignore the small spammers but there are people you can report the spam/flags to and they will handle it
