What Happens, When It Happens? THE USA & AUSTRALIA (PART 10)

in #politics7 years ago

Ranked as the most powerful military forces on this earth and one of the longest traditional allies with Australia in just about everything as far as warfare goes, no matter what the case was is of course The United States of America.

Some may call The USA "A Big Brother" some may refer the The USA as "The Cesar of modern times", no matter what words a person may choose, the fact is that Aussies and Americans have for the past century chewed a lot of the same dirt/turf as a team. During The Cold War era, both countries worked as a team, using resources and geographical locations to the advantage of the western world. From sharing data, technology to covering the skies with radar systems that the east could only have wished to have had. All in all, this long lasting friendship and partnership between our two nations has in many ways ensured that no matter who decides to endanger either of our two great nations, that we can always rely on one another.

This post to some may seem a little unnecessary as "we all know" that The USA is the most powerful country "with the biggest stick" when it comes to military forces.

From the charts that I have posted in earlier posts about military rankings to in depth reports such as the one that can be found on sites dedicated to the topic, such as globalfirepower.com.

Unlike the videos I have used to date, the video here is one that shows off a smidgen of Uncle Sams military in action:

So I guess the point made is clear.

Australia is not only safe because of its geographical location, not only because it has New Zealand as a brother in arms along the east coast, with a traditional bond known as The Legend of The ANZACS, but the fact that Australians have always fought arm to arm with The USA when ever needed in any theater, no matter where it may have been, and our bond which was forged during the Cold War is in fact unbreakable.

So no matter what the "numbers" may suggest when looking at some of the military forces out there which are comprised of peoples of very different morals and cultures, we have not only allies, but brothers and sisters who share the same values and morals as us, who can without any doubt assist if heaven forbid the need were to arise.

This doesn't however change the facts that I have mentioned and emphasized in earlier posts, such as the fact that Australia's military ranking is heavily dependent upon "Manpower" which is basically our male population.
When compared to many of the nations that I have addressed in this series it is clear that we have a very small military of a very high standard. It is clear that unlike many of the other nations our male population is not trained and prepared with the necessary know how.

Does the fact that we have such good allies who have always been able to depend upon us when needed, give us the right to not take all possible measures in ensuring that our "manpower" is up to speed with the necessary know how?

We all enjoy our freedoms/liberties yet the thought of facing our reality and the requirements that DO EXIST as far as giving some of our time so as to get the necessary know how in the fields of self defence is a topic at which many frown upon and look down upon.

What used to be a norm at highschools, known as Cadets has been forgotten, there is no compulsory military training, there is no know how for our "man power" in Australia.
Yet, our "numbers" are a mere fraction to those of others.
Yet our land size is practically the same as The USA.

Now I can understand that there may be many "opinions" on these topics, but I am not addressing personal opinions, I am addressing the facts.
Do personal preferences over ride LOGIC?
Do requirements of our reality fall behind the opinions of those who want it all but are not willing to invest some of their time to stand behind their claim to all the freedoms/liberties our great nation gives them?

I dare say that there is an obvious lack of responsibility.

When addressing this topic, many may automatically use the term "conscription" and use it in a manner as would be used during a war. However, the reality is that compulsory military training does not automatically obligate someone to involuntarily go to foreign war zones. What it does mean is that an individual is given the necessary know how in a field of self defence which can be relied upon if heaven forbid the situation were to arise in which our great nation were to faced with the horrors of war. An education giving people the basic know how so that as humans they can defend their basic human right to self defence.
Now I can appreciate the ignorance among those who have only seen or experienced the "Hollywood" side of things, life is nothing like that, that is for sure. What I cannot appreciate is the fact that ignorance is accepted by our "politicians" on matters that are of such a magnitude of importance , probably because the "voters" may not be happy to have to face their responsibilities as members of our great nation.

What is more important, a politicians career or ensuring that Aussies have the necessary know how to protect our homes and families?

Lets not forget, the "know how" that I am addressing is not just handling firearms, it is for all the fields that are part of our defence forces, everything from a signalman who ensures that we have communications up and running to the medic who saves lives. It is a fact that every Aussie soldier has to know what two or three foreign soldiers know. When we look at the "manpower" numbers, the same principle would have to apply!

Imagine what it would be like to have a nation of people who are qualified to handle crisis situations!

& we all know that there are crisis situations all over our country, from flooding, to fires, to all sorts of disasters, no matter if it involve a person involved in a car accident or it be a typhoon or hurricane!

I deliberately addressed our allies in this post, so that I may once again address our reality in Australia.
So that we may face it directly in the eye and not "pussy foot" around it!

In the next posts in this series I shall go ahead and look into other military forces that are only moments away from Australia.
