Scotland Roundtrip XIII - The Inchmahome Priory [EN/DE]

Back on the mainland we found another gem on our way back to Edinburgh. A few kilometers before Stirling you can find the Lake of Menteith. On the shore of this lake is a footbridge. If you raise the white board, which is attached to a post, towards the lake, a ferry man will pick you up and bring you to a tiny island.
Zurück auf dem Festland fanden wir auf unserem Weg zurück nach Edinburgh ein weiteres Juwel. Wenige Kilometer vor Stirling befindet sich der Lake of Meneith. Am Ufer ist ein kleiner Steg; wenn man dort eine weiße Tafel Richtung See hochklappt, die dort an einem Pfosten befestigt ist, wird ein Fährmann kommen und dich zu einer kleinen Insel bringen.

Once again, a secret world opens up on entering the island: The Inchmahome Priory. Here you can find the ruins of an ancient priory of the Augustinian order, founded in 1238, surrounded by a little mysterious forest. I want to share some of my impressions...

What a great photo-post ... I'm really falling in love with Scottland every time I see photo's of it. The only thing is that I don't like rain ... And my partner really hates it, and he hates cold temperatures. So I guess Scottland is a no-go for us due to that two facts, but otherwise. For the environment and architecture, for the nature, I would love to go visit it sometime.
Thanks for your great comment, @hetty-rowan! We were actually lucky and had only few rainy days and even got sunburned. But yeah,there's no heat. I wish to be there right now, because I can't stand heat here in Germany this summer...
