One day after seeing the Old Man of Storr we got the recommendation from our lovely Airbnb host Gillian to visit Loch Coruisk. Since she´s the local we followed her advice. Loch Coruisk is a freshwater lake in the southwest of the Isle of Skye. It´s only accessible by hiking a dangerous trail or by boat from a Elgol, a little fishing village. You can cross the sea within 30 minutes from there. On the way you´re passing seal banks and little waterfalls, running down dramatic cliffs. There´s a wide, flat waterfall connecting the lake to the sea. The lake itself is surrounded by the mighty Cuillin Hills.
Einen Tag nachdem wir beim Old Man of Storr waren, bekamen wir von unserer lieben Airbnb Gastgeberin Gillian den Tipp, Loch Coruisk zu besuchen. Da sie dort einheimisch ist, befolgten wir den Rat. Loch Coruisk ist ein Süßwassersee im Südwesten der Isle of Skye. Es gibt nur zwei Wege den See zu erreichen: Entweder über einen angeblich gefährlichen Wanderpfad oder mit dem Boot von dem kleinen Fischerdorf Elgol aus. Von dort aus kann man innerhalb von 30 Minuten über das Meer übersetzen. Unterwegs kommt man vorbei an Seehundbänken und kleinen Wasserfällen, die von steilen Klippen herunterstürzen. Der See selbst ist umgeben von den mächtigen Cuillin Hills.

So we drove to Elgon, parked our car at the little harbour and started our journey to this amazing unspoiled landscape by boat. What we found was a hidden silent world where nature had built her own sculptures using stones, plants and animals...
Also fuhren wir nach Elgol, stellten das Auto an dem kleinen Hafen ab und begannen unsere Reise mit dem Boot zu dieser unglaublichen und unberührten Landschaft. Was wir dort vorfanden, war eine versteckte, leise Welt, in der die Natur ihre eigenen Skulpturen erschaffen hatte, mit Steinen, Pflanzen und Tieren...

Ohhh wie schön!! Die Bilder sind der Hammer- und ich wäre jetzt niemand der unbedingt nach Schottland will, irgendwie hab ich da jetzt einen anderen Blickwinkel drauf. Und die Seehunde erst. So gerne würde ich diese mal sehen. Eure Verlobung war dann ja noch die Krönung <3 wundervoll

Ja das hast du auf jeden Fall!! Am liebsten mit dem Rucksack ganz weit weg - es kann mir da auch nicht zu heiß sein und halt ganz klassisch das Meer. Ich will immer ans Meer:-) Beste Grüße

Elgol and Black Cuillins are magical places, never been by the lake itself, never had time to go there by boat or hike, but I am sure it is really wild place! Isle of Skye is one of my favourites, maybe You had the oportunity to see my entries from that place... Thanks for sharing! Well done!

Die felsige Küste ist unglaublich intensiv, das gefällt mir sehr gut. Weite Teile der Küste hier in Santo Domingo sind auch felsig(ja richtig kein Sand) aber nie so eindrucksvoll.
