Hitchhiker

Today's little hitchhiker was found on my backpack after returning home. Little did he know that he had graciously provided me with a perfect opportunity to practice some macro photography.

Although, after taking these shots I have decided that my camera is somewhat lacking particularly when using the 'auto' macro settings. I really love that I was able to pick up the rich texture from the backpack, however, the actual insect is not as clear and in focus as I would have liked. Which just means I need to spend some more time learning my camera and keep trying to experiment with different settings (any excuse to take some photos really!)

Also, for anyone who may be concerned, my model was successfully released outside after the photoshoot. I placed him on a lovely green leaf where he was able to wait safely until he was ready to fly away.
