My Top 5 In Order
As one of the 5 judges, and as an original artist also, I aim to represent the best original artists in this contest from our wonderful Steemit community. I am keeping my ears open for cover artists as well, don't worry but creating an original song is indeed impressive, especially if executed and performed well. Best of skill and performance to you all next week. This week was solid and had a lot of entries, but I actually found less strenuous to judge than previous weeks, thank goodness lol but I would like to see a level up in quality and competition so we can highlight more various new artists. There were many gems I found and there were still many talented performers who entered, so forgive me if I didn't list you, I definitely heard everyone's entries. See you next week!
1. @steembirds' "If I Was A Judge" Original Song
Instant classic. I laughed so hard. Thank you for this amazing song. It definitely is something I can relate to and the energy and overall harmonic performance was stellar. This one is for the memories and for all the countless hours of sleep I lose to seek out the best musicians in our Open Mic Contest. I have yet to miss judging any contest week now and I know the pivotal role we all play in keeping this community strong and your entry set the bar high to keep everyone on their toes. I consider myself a tough judge and I found that this week was pretty easy to pick my winners list, scary right? lol and what better way to appease a judge than to write a song they can relate to? This has so much replay value! You guys are awesome. Keep up the original creative masterpieces.

2. @innerdialogue "Summertime" by Gershwin Cover Song
As most regular entrants know, I highly favor original entries over covers, but when such a talented and skilled singer and player as yourself can bring new life to a classic song and perform it flawlessly, then it deserves praise and recognition over other karaoke styled entries of the same song. One thing about creativity is, someone can take a cover song and still make it their own with their style, approach and tonality and you completely achieve this and raised the standards for everyone else. 3. @luisferchav's "Try Again" Original Song
This was another great original that showcased your smooth singing style. This creative entry had so many interwoven and varying parts rhythmically and melodically. That shows your level of innovative songwriting using an everconstant changing of notes and keys to your advantage, especially in a time pressured song writing contest. Some artists may find one good melody and ride it out to the very end in a repetitive manner without much risk taking, but your high note falsetto sections to your intriguing choruses paid off. I was tuned in and enjoyed your song the entire time and this was not in the least boring at all. You are very talented in what you do, please keep original music alive! And once again, you continue to shine to the top of my list with your seemingly effortless performances. Your natural talented voice is truly a gift to share with the world and you should continue to do so because it seems any song you choose, awakes a musical vitality that inspires. You may have not placed in my list last week or won 1st place yet, but you have everything it takes to reach the top. We are awaiting your next original masterpiece or captivating cover. Your high quality consistency and evident passion for music keeps you as a force in this open mic contest. You have the same musical prowess and potential like a younger @soundlegion. 5. @davidfar "Skin And Bones" by The Foofighters Cover Song
You certainly gave a chilling and haunting performance in this wonderful entry. I could feel every nuance of dark emotion in this song and the energy from your suspensefully great sounding voice as well as your postured body language, just added to the overall heaviness and sadness of this performance. When we truly embody the music as artists and become intertwined with the deep meanings and intentional vibrations of such songs, the impact can be that much more real and influentially inspiring. Nice cover song, this is one of your best moving entries so far. Keep it up bro.

Good find, great performance on this one, from the very first note played on the Guitar you could tell that this was going to be a meaningful performance. Lots of emotion and subtle vocal ornaments for the singer-singer. Love how she busted out wayyy late too.
Lucy's got some great stuff going on too. I'd like to hear this "next original masterpiece" too.
That Drewley Piano Piece was just awesome. He needs to collab with some female singers. Get them soaring over his lovely piano scapes IMO!
And how good was @basilmarples song... come on! That guy is hilarious and a good songwriter too.

Truth be told, we almost went to a very dark place with it, I'm not gona lie... and then we did a full 180 thankfully, came back with this great version, which I think is pretty hilarious. Maybe one of our best vids yet IMO.

Those are pretty rad. The first one had over 50 songs i think...DOUBLE ALBUM !
Yeah I had checked them out. I was on the first album with my best friend @edgarstudio with a song called Cherish. Were you also in either of the albums?
And open mic compilation was something I have been thinking of as well. I would definitely make my own selective album for my preferences. There are some awesome original artists that we have come across

Lo siento, no entiendo. Si su video ya ganó la semana 61, entonces la misma entrada de video no puede ganar para la semana 62. No sé por qué su video no está allí para la semana 62.
