Well this just keeps getting better and better, now I must say what an amazing week of extraordinary entries - you should all feel proud of your contributions, they were all just tip notch.

I have to admit this job is both a blessing and a curse, a blessing because I get to hear all your phenomenal music - a curse because I can only select a top 5 and honestly I often let my honourable mentions get a little long.

I have been trying to force myself to a stricter format, I'm still not setting myself hard limits - some weeks it's just too hard to pick a couple and I cave and share as much as I think I can get away with.

As this contest grows so does it's talent pool and I have to mention, just what an insanely talented family we are building here together - you guys put in so much effort and we just love soaking up all that beautiful musical goodness.

I really love being a part of this truly genuine group of passionate musicians, it's not something I planned but it is something I will always treasure being a part of - so thank you to all of you, without you we'd have nothing to listen to and share.

Without any further delays, here is this weeks top 5 judges selection.

This week's top 5:

1st Place - @pandamama- Super Right

Hell yes ladies, I just love every single thing about this entry - what an amazing and unique sound, not to mention how creative the songs construction is.

This is just pure brilliance, I could listen to this every day and never get over it - such a super catchy tune, it just works so fricken well.

The songs musical composition is elegant and complex, it varies throughout the song - it's what music should be, varied, complex and unique.

Now for the Melody, well I just didn't see it coming at all - I love the deeper vocal range used throughout the verses, it captures the darker elements beautifully.

As for those killer harmonies, well I may have just said it - they were killer, adding a perfect haunting tone to the overall feel you established and just the perfect embellishment.

I could easily see this as a mass success in the mainstream music scene, this has all the classic elements of a hit - you have created such a full sound and feel with only your voices and a piano, the skills required for this just amaze me.

I love the way your vocals flow in rhythmic bursts, to perfectly combine with the flow of the piano - you create a brilliant sense of build as the song continues, highlighted by the chorus to wonderful effect.

When the piano comes in I got a certain feel, only to have it change when the vocals begin - the transitions of the musical composition are just next level.

With a sound like that, you capture the audiences attention - but the best part is with the rest of the songs structure and execution you keep it, in the most captivating way.

It's always a pleasure to watch naturals at play, you make the whole thing look effortless - like this is just you and a mate chilling and playing some tunes, that just so happen to be fricken brilliant.

You two have sold me, not only on this song but as musicians - if this is what you can create, I'm hooked just call me a fan.

Entries like this fill me with energy and this is the part of the job I love, when I hear something and just know - yes this just has to be first!

I so look forward to hearing more from the both of you as this contest continues, you really kicked arse with that song - I'm gonna go listen one more time.

2nd Place - @rial17 - Wild World

Here we go guys, what a brilliant song choice and your execution was just to perfection - I found myself swaying along with moments and then of course I had to sing along as well.

Just an absolutely brilliant display of musicianship, you both created an amazing full sound - I love a simple set up (voice and guitar) and just watching the magic happen.

Your vocals were really amazing, like I was blown away by some of the choices you made and you just nailed it perfectly - I couldn't help but get into it.

I love watching entrants that really get into what they are performing, I love watching the passion spill through to those listening - it is just so much more of the entertainment factor and I can't wait to see and hear more of it from you.

The playing was also just spot on and also performed not just played, the two of you work really well together and I hope to see more collaborations in the future - I like the sound you create together and I wonder do you perform original music together?

Either way I am loving this sound and look forward to hearing more, from both of you in very near future!

3rd Place - @justinzidi - Stay with me

I have to say again what a brilliant song selection, it is just perfect to display the full amazing range of your vocal capabilities - which I have to say are just jaw droppingly awesome.

You have some serious skills there buddy, I love your gentle playing as the focus was - as it should be, on your outstanding vocals.

The way you convey the emotions through the lyrics and your use of the melody, the vocal gymnastics were just sublime and an absolute pleasure to behold - your falsetto is just divine and the lower notes are full and enriched with power.

You have caught my attention in only a couple of entries, for a relatively new user and a new Open Mic'er you are just smashing it.

I hope to see you stay with us in the coming weeks and months, you will be a valued member of our growing family - can't wait to hear what you share with us next!

4th Place - @marcusings - one call away

It is the week of amazing vocals once again, I just have to say what a beautiful and interesting rendition of this song - I absolutely enjoyed listening to it multiple times.

I love the slower version with a higher focus on the lyrics and the melody, your vocals just shinned brightly through soothing accompaniment.

Your falsetto is just sublime and such a light and airy tone, with brilliant control even in the higher register - I love combination of the deeper tones at the beginning and then smashing it out of the park with those phenomenal falsetto highs.

The control you display throughout the performance is a just amazing, the trills and vocal embellishments are sublime to hear and attempt to recreate - you have an amazing voice and demand it's control perfectly.

I really look forward to hearing more from you in the coming weeks, I need to hear more of your singing and soon!

5th Place - @julianroso - My Dream

Again I find myself blown away by an amazing display of vocal prowess, this has truly become a place for those with the skills to let them shine - you my friend have supplied a truly brilliant song and I really love it.

Your playing is the perfect accompaniment to the lyrics and melody, when combined in the song it creates a full and complete tune - not requiring a single thing to be altered, its really perfect.

You have an impressive vocal control, with a smooth and gentle timber to your voice - with just enough vocal embellishment to keep the listener hooked.

In your comment section I read that your gold record, shown behind you in the video was an award for songwriting - well you have peeked my interest and now I'm eager to hear more from you.

The songs structure works brilliantly, highlighting the complex lyrics and the beautiful melody to utter perfection.

Well I've gone and done another all nighter to ensure I get this post out in time, it's the first day of school going back in Australia - so this weekend was just a little crazy intense trying to get all my Open Mic posts out on time, plus do all my kids back to school shopping.

Needless to say it was a whirlwind of a weekend and I haven't had a moment to catch my breath, but with the kids returning to school - my life should return to some semblance of routine and normality, at least I hope so anyway.

The point is once things go back to normal, I will be able to focus even further on Open Mic and all it's entrants - I have a few ideas for new radio shows featuring our amazing entrants, so the new year holds big promise for the future.

I want to thank all of those who took the time, to give us a really amazing show to watch this week - it really is like a show for me, like a massive concert each and every week.

I love getting to know all of you through your amazing music and I can't wait to see what the future holds for us all, you guys are amazing and even more amazing things are happening because of it.

Anyway I should get some sleep it's 4 am and I have the Steemit Musicians radio show on at MSP-Waves in a few hours so this should be fun for all who drop by for a listen!

On the note of the community I thought I'd take a moment to mention that, over at the minnow support program on our discord chat room Peace Abundance and Liberty - the recently revitalised music room has been getting rather active lately.

As well as the recent burst of activity, we have also added a jukebox to the room - so now when you're chatting with people in the music room, you can choose and play music from youtube (this includes open mic entries, I may have already played a couple I really enjoyed).

So far I have seen a few open mic regulars hanging out and about on the PAL chat rooms, now we have a place where we can actively share music live with people were chatting with - this can help musicians in so many ways, not to mention it's just fun to hang out and chat over and about good tunes.

In addition to the new music room Peace Abundance and Liberty chat rooms have a lot to offer, you can access bots to vote on your posts, you can also meet and interact with over 5000 steemians in the channel - this can be a very useful resource to new steemians, but is also a fantastic place to meet and interact with like minded individuals on many different topics.
