The Incredible Iguazu Falls
Hi I'm Danny! I'm travelling around the world! Follow my posts.
Iguazu Falls is the widest waterfall in the world, dividing Brazil and Argentina. There are 275 different falls and islands making up this incredibly expansive waterfall system.
There were wooden walk ways all over the falls and as we walked around from point to point the waterfall just seemed to get bigger and more impressive at every turn.
The spray from the waterfall was so powerful that it was impossible to not get drenched. We were completely soaked - if you plan to visit you might want to take a spare pair of clothes.
We went down to one of the lower walkways where boat trips were being offered that went right into the mouth of the waterfalls. We got our life jackets on and went in this speed boat right up to the waterfall at the Devil's Throat.
It was scary being in such powerful waters, and at the mouth of the waterfall we lost all visibility. It wasn't until the driver of our boat turned around that we finally got our bearings.
The two sides of the waterfall are quite different and while it's really great to see both sides, if you only have one day it's worth thinking about which side you want to visit from.
From the Argentine side you are really up close and personal. It's loud and everywhere you look are different falls. On the Brazilian side there is a totally different perspective - it offers you a wider panoramic view of the waterfall.
Would you walk up to the edge of these falls?
