Inktober - Day #18 "Bottle"

Normally everyone fears phenomena, but there is a phenomenon to which everyone has sympathy and I love, the phenomenon of light, without it we would not be able to perceive color, because our brain is responsible for interpreting the nerve signals that occur in our retina, ie our eye sees the light and deciphers the tonalities it reflects, great, right?
With the interesting data previously exposed, I welcome you to the late day number 18 of the Inktober, the subject for this occasion is "bottle", so naturally I have drawn a bottle, but as you can see it is not empty, inside we can see some small fish, besides a sad and enclosed siren, could someone please release it?

Materials:
- Autodesk Skecthbook
- Adobe Photoshop

-Step 1:
This time I'll finally show you something I've been wanting to show you for a while, if you've read any of my previous posts, remember that I always say "this is the final sketch" and then I show you a few lines with definite shapes; but this time, you'll be able to see a first sketch next to the end, always starting with a kind of mannequin, which I improve until I get to the famed final sketch.

-Step 2:
From that final sketch, I take the task of improving each stroke making them cleaner, this is known as lineart or outline.

-Step 3:
In this occasion, I have colored the characters with a base tone, the truth does not matter what color is used, since the only purpose of this, is to fill the character completely without going out of the limits, so then you can use the tool "pixel blocking" and allow you to color only in the area previously defined.

-Step 4:
Then I started the shading and the details, I focused mostly on the mermaid's face, as all the feeling of the illustration is there, I also played a little with the details of her tail. Finally I have added some shades and shadows to the bottle.

-I'll leave you a little gif with the whole process in it, so you can better observe the step by step.

What is inktober?
The inktober is an initiative created by the illustrator Jake Parker in 2009, in order to improve his artistic skills, although over the years has made a great impact on the international artistic community. The challenge is to make a drawing with ink every day, hence its name, "ink" (ink) "tober" (October), although for the most part this is respected, many other artists prefer to stay in their comfort zone, so you can see illustrations made with watercolors, graphite, charcoal, digital and any existing technique.
