Inktober - Day #13 "Guarded"

I'm still late on the inktober, I have to get my act together today, but here's the drawing from day 13, the subject was "guarded", a subject really very open to interpretation, so mine is quite philosophical or something like that.

Since the subject tries to protect something, I have created a beautiful and dangerous cyborg who fights for his life, which depends on that fragile crystal that is in the middle of his chest, so the idea is, no matter how many wounds you suffer or when you fight hard, the important thing is to protect and take care of your life at all costs.

Materials:

• Opaline white leaf (A4) 180 gr
• Liquid ink and brushes
• Black Gel pen
• Mechanical pencil 0.7 HB

-Step 1:

As usual, I made a soft sketch with the mechanical pencil, in it I defined the idea completely.

-Step 2:

Start drawing with the help of the gel pen, going from the outside to the inside of the drawing.

-Step 3:

Then I have filled some spaces with quite dark tones, in addition I have made the hair leaving some shine to generate volume.

-Step 4:

Finally with the help of liquid ink I have made some shadows, in addition to give more life to the drawing, I have colored with a blue tone the gem that is in the chest of the girl.

What is inktober?

The inktober is an initiative created by the illustrator Jake Parker in 2009, in order to improve his artistic skills, although over the years has made a great impact on the international artistic community. The challenge is to make a drawing with ink every day, hence its name, "ink" (ink) "tober" (October), although for the most part this is respected, many other artists prefer to stay in their comfort zone, so you can see illustrations made with watercolors, graphite, charcoal, digital and any existing technique.
