Beer Tasting: Bernard IPA
Hello beer tasters!
New week, new #beersaturday challenge. And here's the new beer story by Minnow 1 (1453SP needed for Dolphin 3), oh, yes, it's me the person...a very long road to go for the smallest dolphin, especially if you build it only with your own posts, which are not something special...
With a friend, we didn't see each other for a long time and we agreed on a beer at our first meeting. A few days ago we met at Aviopub Postojna, they offer Bernard beers there and, I haven't tried this Bernard yet.
Bernard Indian Pale Ale
Brewed by commercial brewery Rodinný pivovar Bernard, Humpolec, Czech Republic.
Bernard is a very famous and reputed Czech beer brand, at least in my region, but their Indian Pale Ale we are not used to. Bottle 0.5 l, alcohol 5.6% ABV.
Classic beer bottle, wide glass, clear orange color and quite strong long lasting foam.
The first sip is extremely bitter as it flows down the throat, there is a very strong hops taste, slightly less malt. The aromas of herbs, including fruits, are felt all the time, and finally, the bitterness of the hops prevails in aftertaste, too.
I would say a very rough IPA that cuts directly and immediately across all senses without mercy. It lacks that English IPA sophistication and intertwining of flavors.
Otherwise far from being a bad beer but careful!
I would not recommend more than one. I'll think again if I'll ever have it in my fridge.
