Fast & Simple Ramen Upgrade: Thai Peanut Chicken Noodles (FOOD PHOTO SHOOT)

in #food7 years ago

Wow, it’s Sunday again?????

DSC_1509.jpg

Yeah, I know I say this same thing pretty much every week but seriously, how does time fly by so fast? It’s craziness.

Speaking of how time flies, I think we can all agree that quick and easy meals are total life-savers sometimes, especially when life happens and chaos ensues. For example, whether you’re balancing school, or your job, or your family, or pretty much all of the above, you'll always have those weeknights when you're too tired to cook. The unfortunate irony is that those are usually the times when you really crave something delicious and comforting to make up for it. I mean, you can go for the obvious, and typically unhealthy, choices that require only minutes to prep, but they’re never satisfying.

That’s what today’s recipe is all about, taking one of the world’s favorite instant foods and giving it a face-lift. Enter: Thai Peanut Chicken Ramen. Haha, my brother said it was like I’d pimped the ramen and then we all had the idea that someone needs to create a TV cooking show with the title ‘Pimp My Ramen’ . It would be the best.

Despite it not being a health food, admit it, we all love ramen, right? Yep, and the way I see it is that if you’re going to do it, you’ve gotta do it right. Go big or home.

Ok, and the few extra minutes it takes to put this together are so completely worth it and you’ll thank me later. It takes about 25 minutes from start to finish and then you’ve got a meal that can cure even the worst of days. Also, feel free to swap the veggies out for any you’d prefer and I’ve listed some ingredients as optional if the ingredients list seems a bit long there are a few things that can be skipped without taking away from the end result too much.

I can’t wait to hear what you guys think of this dinner hack when you try it!

As always, the recipe is available upon request, and I always give an upvote for the first one.

I love pimping my ramen! My favorite is making Tonkatsu (thick pork stock) ramen. I'd be up for doing Ramen challenges if you want to @gringalicious. People should see all the amazing things you can do with that cheap little package and a couple extra minutes. Great pictures BTW! I'd love to see in process pics of you plating the food :-)

Thanks @bruckdashel! A ramen throwdown sounds like it would be a blast some time. As for the process shots I'd definitely like to start incorporating more things like that however I've been traveling the past few weeks and the small kitchen I have to use at the moment simply doesn't have the space to do it.

I hope your travels have been safe! I look forward to your continued posts @gringalicious. Let me know when you want to do a ramen throw down and let's see if we can get a couple more people involved :-)

I am swamped at present, between steemit, travel, blogging and goofing off, actually conducting a throw down at this moment would be daunting. BUT, I can tell you are going to be around here for a while to come, so let's do this in a couple months or so. I think I may be more settled by then. Keep up this kind of engagement and you'll do fantastic here on steemit

Thank you! This reminds me of the wild wests of Myspace many years ago, but I can see steemit actually going somewhere and meaning something @gringalicious. If your travels bring you to NYC or Los Angeles let me know and I'll suggest all sorts of hole in the wall restaurants for you.

Fortunately, I am a little too young to remember myspace, but I fully get your point. Yes, this place is without a beta testing ground and it's full on crazy sometimes. But, it is easy for me to say this at this moment with my current success, I can really see how this is going to take off into crazy awesomeness!

I can see a trip to NYC in my not too distant future. Vamos a ver

Yes, get some ramen so you can try this amazingness!!! Thank you so much @elteamgordo!

Definitely looks like my style... yummy... even the colorful presentation!!! I'm new to steemit and I'm having a heck of a time trying to figure out how to post publicly under the food category?! Anyone have any advice...... seems like both my posts are in my "blogs" section and it says " posted in chefamandamarie " can anyone see them?

Hey @chefamandamarie. Before you do anything further here on steemit, you should do an intro post. You can look here for some great examples of what a intro post should look like - https://steemit.com/trending/introduceyourself. Secondly, stop using your username as a tag. If you are going to make a food post, then make food your first tag. Again, work on that intro post and from there, look around at what others are doing and the one's that are successful, emulate them. Where in Washington state are you?

Hi thank you so much for repling....Im in bellingham wa! I did make an intro but i dont think anyone has seen or read it either ? :-(

I can see it myself in my "blog" section

I think i figured out the problem but i dont know how to fix it.......when I signed up for my acct I used "chefamandamarie" as onof my categories?? any ideas? ty

edit it and get rid of that tag
