100 Days Challenge | Day 100

in #esteem6 years ago

I set myself a challenge to take 100 days off where I will mainly put my focus on my Health and Personal Development. I will be making these posts every 10 days to track my progression and give an update.

Day 91-100

While I had the intention to end this 100 day challenge strong, the opposite happened near the 100 day mark since I realised I was going / wanted to keep this going (in a more balanced way) and felt I needed to gear up for that. The past 100 days have been mostly positive and doing this challenge really did make a difference even though a lot more is needed to reach the longer term goals I have set for myself.

Healthy Food: I mostly kept up my Plant Based eating habit but got tempted a couple times to eat bread and some potato chips. The last is one of my weak points which I will eventually eliminate. These things tend to go in steps, getting myself to stop eating meat (I still very much love the taste of it) took a while but I'm now at a point where it's pretty impossible for me to eat it anymore. It was a similar process for cheese, milk and eggs and I will do exactly the same for potato chip.

I did make the lasagne version with lots of green vegetables (peas, broccoli, green asparagus, mint, spring onion) and coconut milk which I absolutely love and I am starting to become specialised in healthy versions of existing comfort food.

It is pretty much a more healthy version of a recipe I used to make from Jamie Oliver in the past.

  • Regular Lasagna replaced with Yellow Lentil Lasagna
  • Cream replaced with coconut milk
  • Cheese replaced with Nutritional Yeast)

Working Out: I feel I reached my peak fitness level around day 94. Doing a lot of sport activities has really been a revelation these past 100 days starting to run in the moring, playing Tennis, doing regular walks, doing calisthenics on the power station I bought, joining Bikram Yoga Classes,... The major downside is that it all takes up quite some time and I will continue these activities at a more moderate pace so I get all the health benefits.

I still enjoyed doing some morning runs or an evening walk on the day I did not feel like going for a run

Social Life: I did go out on another Speed Date I signed up for a while ago despite not really being in the dating mindset on the day the event took place. It went ok but I didn't really feel a connection with anyone. I saw afterwards that 2 of the women wanted to see me back which at least is something positive. My expectations are probably a bit too high and I have been thinking I should maybe give things more of a chance in the future.

I did spend quite some time with my family going to an exposition of my mother who attends art school. Even though I'm not that much into it, I know my mom would appreciate it, even though she did not even ask me to come so I was glad to spend some time with her there. (some pictures of the things she made...)

I also finally did one of the things I intended to do when I started this challenge which was to go somewhere and do something with both my nieces. We went to a kids festival where some of their favorite artists performed live (Lil Kleine & Ghost Rockers) and they really enjoyed it. My fun mostly came from seeing them being happy :)

Steemit: One of my objectives was to not play any video games for 100 days which was surprisingly easy probably because I pretty much replaced it with Steemit which very much feels like playing a video game. I have used an alternate steemit account (@byebyehamburgers) to keep myself sharp and motivated for this challenge while also seeing what it means to grow on steemit from nothing. It really helped a lot and made me learn a lot about this platform at the same time. (everyone who is willing to put some time into it should be able to easily reach 1$+ daily post earnings regardless the subject or any investment). The Health | Fitness | vegan | running communities on Steemit are really great and the platform is really suited to blog about personal challenges like this.

I have also been putting a lot more time into my @upvoteshares / @minnowshares support project which I would like to launch within the next 2 weeks. Aside from that I still want to make a couple long posts to promote Steemit to the online Sport Betting Community to hopefully have some more solid winning tipsters try out this platform. Once the new Belgian Football Season Starts I plan on doing Steemit more on routine without spending (wasting) the amount of time on it as I did these past 100 days who have been quite poor when it comes down to actually making enough money.

I will continue my challenge for at least a year and have already set myself some new goals. I will be making a daily update post on my alternate account @byebyehamburgers and use it to give some support back to the Steemit Health Community. This account highly helped me with all this and I might also continue to make these occasional (monthly) summary updates on this account.

Thanks everyone for reading my update posts these 100 days and for all the encouraging comments, I can highly recommend everyone using Steemit for something similar to this, it really makes a huge difference motivation wise!

Nice work! What a great way to track progress, stay accountable and gain support. I always say I am going to do something like this, but haven't yet but will now give it some more thought - inspired!

Thanks @activehope, I can really recommend it. Steemit is really an excellent platform since it gives an extra incentive to live up to something and do better.

Good Luck !

Good To hear the You have completed you challenge with the Positive Results! I haven't read your Previous posts about All of this particular challenge , but will surely do after reading This :)

Thanks @feedy92, content wise there is nothing really groundbreaking in these post but I know they inspired at least a couple people and seeing similar post from people who tyt to improve upon their health, fitness or whatever on steemit really gives me feel part of a group. The health community here on steemit is really great.
