Steemit Poets United: Daily Dose Of Poetry and Prose #22 (The Highjacked Issue)
Hello everyone! Welcome back to another edition of Daily Dose of Poetry and Prose. Some of you may remember that I have hosted this issue last week (edition 16) when @angelveselinov did not have enough time to prepare it himself. Guess what? I have volunteered to help him again. He has been working actively for the Steemit Poets United community, and we have been thinking of ways to grow the community. With that said, here are the 7 featured poems in today's edition and my mini-review of each.
Our first entry comes from @danimal. In this poem, I'll Never Find Love Like This Again, he speaks about a love story which has now been lost. It definitely comes from the heart.
The second poem is called Misunderstood. @its-kg wrote this for the community's bot, @cleansingpoetry. In the poem, the protagonist expresses a confusion, as she is unable to decipher the messages she is receiving.
@Lymepoet's poem, LOST, is our next entry. This poem is well-written; I love how the format elevates the message to another level. Lymepoet was quite creative in this poem, and her choice of imagery is consistent - it is definitely worth a read.
P.S. Lymepoet is the one who informed me about Steemit! Thank you for that - glad that our paths have crossed in this community as well.
In There is Power in Expectation, @fidelpoet tells us how to achieve success and happiness. Moreover, he shows us numerous examples of how not to achieve it - in other words, what we should avoid doing.
The next poem comes from @lorddominik007 and is called All Things Pass. Here, in few words, lorddominik007 is able to give us encouragement to move on with life. As the name suggests, all things pass, so we should do our best not to get stuck in the negative feelings. Thank you lorddominik007 for that motivation!
RA-TA-TA-TA is a darker poem that expresses pain. @Warpedpoetic makes brilliant use of imagery to convey the emotions in the scenes described. Even though the message is not directly written, it is well portrayed between the lines; so I will try to let you get to it without spoiling. The poem speaks well enough for itself.
@madevi titles the next piece as poetic exercise with shape and words. The poem's lines are written in the same length, something the poet wanted to experiment with. The post speaks about his purrrfect Deeva (and yes, there is a picture of this cat in the post). It's a beautiful story of how they met. Meow.
The last entry for today's daily dose is @yahialababidi's Call and Response. This is a spiritual piece in which Yahia is comfortable to express his vulnerability to a higher being. What I truly like about this piece is that it is not tied to a specific religion, but is spiritual and relatable to everyone. Its message is well-written and expressed simply.
That was all for today's edition! It was fun to read and review the pieces that you guys wrote. I apologise if the reviews were a bit short at times, however, we are pressed for time. I have tried to do my best to do justice to each of the presented poems.
