☠️ Lake Bonney or Nookampka ☠️
Growing up in the river land as a kid once a year our class used to go on a school camp to Lake Bonney, or as we used to call it Nookampka.
We used to go there for a few days and stay in the facilities provided by Camp Kedron.
☠️ Activities ☠️
Once we arrived at Nookampka all the equipment and activities were ready and set up by the camp coordinators, so we could jump off the bus and jump straight into the fun.
I always used to grab one of the kayaks first and go out on to the lake and explore.
Kayaking on Lake Bonney is really fun, I like to check out all the dead trees sticking out the water.
Another one of my favorite things to do on Lake Bonney was use the wind surfers.
There was always usually a gentle breeze, which was perfect as I was only 8 at the time.
You could cruize out a long way and if you had trouble getting back in to shore, one of the camp organizers would cruise out in the dingy and tow you back :)
I also like to go fishing while I was there. The camp has a bunch of fishing rods and gear, so you could just sick back and relax.
Lol usually you never caught anything, but it was still fun.
There was just so much to do there you never got sick of going.
Also Lake Bonney has some really nice shore lines, with sand which makes it more like an inland beach rather than a lake.
I plan to go back there some time and enjoy it all again, some great memories from this place.
I would recommend visiting Lake Bonney to anyone who enjoys camping, kayaking, wind surfing or a spot of fishing.

Ahh cool, yeah lake bonney is a nice place to go. I haven't been since I was a kid so it's on my list to go back there again.
Yeah I go with lighter setups, more fun coz you have to play with the fish rather than just reel it in full speed.
Running a 2 or 4 pound rig atm, think it's 2 can't remember though. The line does break real easy if you not careful though
