Blast From the Past - Part 4 - Records

☠️ Blast From the Past - Records ☠️

Growing up as a kid my parents had a record player and a bunch of really cool records.
I always used to put them on and listen to them for hours, over and over again.

It's amazing to think of how music technology has evolved over my lifetime.
We have gone from these giant records which could only hold a few tracks to being able to fit almost countless tracks on something the size of your thumb.
But having all you music digitized just doesn't leave the same impression on a youngster.

Records for me were great as a kid, I always loved looking at the covers of some albums.
A good example of this was Pink Floyd The Wall record.
It has some really cool art on it, which I think is why I love Pink Floyd, I would listen to this record all the time.

The artwork sure is a product of the twisted 70's.

Another thing records gave me was a real appreciation for the classics.
If your parents had a vinyl collection when you were a kid, I can almost bet on it you appreciate the classics.
One record that made me fall in love with all of the classics is the tour of duty vinyl.
It had a great range of tracks, and I used to imagine what it would have been like for soldiers over in vietnam which I think is why I always love music from the vietnam war era.

Classics like these just never die.
You can listen to them over and over thousands of times and never tire of them.
When music comes out these days, most people won't like it come next year.
Most mainstream music that comes out it these days sounds like shit to me.
Well each to their own I guess.
