Ok my friend! It has been a bit since the last video, what with all the HF20 upgrades to the blockchain. It has been almost 1 full week since the fork and the dust seems to be settling right now.
If this is your first time dropping by my channel, I would like to welcome you here. My name's Ken and one of my goals here on Steem is to edify and equip Steem blockchain projects and their respective communities. I want to help give you a better understanding of the crypto space so that you take action on what you know.
When I mention in the video that the new Mana and RC's are the same as the old voting power and bandwidth, I simply mean that they have similar properties and roles on the blockchain. These new upgrades are setting Steem up for massive scaling in the near and also distant future.
Would you join me today in discussing the incredible exchange service that we have at our fingertips called BlockTrades @blocktrades. I've been using BlockTrades since I started on Steem back in December of 2017 and it has aided me in growing my account via trading my currencies on other exchanges for Steem, Steem Power, and SBD.
BlockTrades is the ideal location to quickly exchange your digital currencies. All you need to do in order to get started is sign up for an account so that you can easily keep track of your transaction history. Go here in order to view the main page and click on "sign up" in the top right corner.
As you will see, the interface is very simple to navigate which is crucial, especially for those new to the crypto space. In fact, I've been around for a while now and I still use BlockTrades for most of my transactions. If you are following along in the video, you will see where I highlight the tabs at the top of the site where you can buy Steem, view more about the team, and also contact them if you have questions or concerns.
In order to place a trade, click on the currency box on the left of the screen and choose the currency that you would like to send to BlockTrades. Then, on the right, let BlockTrades know which currency you would like to trade for and receive to your wallet. Often times, I will send my Litecoin that I purchased from Coinbase, over to Blocktrades for Steem or Steem Power.
Follow the on-screen instructions for sending your currency to the deposit address that BlockTrades displays. Double check that it is the correct address before sending your currency. Once you place the trade, BlockTrades will then take a few minutes (sometimes less) to complete the transaction. Once it is confirmed on the blockchain, you will see the transaction hash inside the completed tab towards the bottom of your screen.
Now that you are further educated on using this exchange, feel free to start applying what you learned and take action. This is not financial advice and only my personal opinion shared here. The cryptocurrency space is volatile so please only invest that which you are willing to lose.
Appreciate you stopping by my channel today. Hope the rest of your day is as amazing as you are. Take care my friend.
Never quit and always believe.
