Changing the Future with Quantum Computing , Artificial Intelligence, and the Blockchain

I am going on record as making a statement in regards to the blockchain, artificial intelligence, and quantum computing. I believe the three are intertwined and furthermore, I believe that the future will revolve around these technologies. I'm not going to go into the details of how it will all work together because honestly, I don't know enough about any of them the discuss them with any authority or knowledge to back it up.

But I can FEEL it. I can tell, just like when I knew that computers where going to be the future after I saw my first one - it just came to me like a vision - I saw that the whole world would soon be using these computers. I had no data to back that up and tell me why – I just recognized how powerful it was and immediately understood that this was going to create a huge impact on our planet.

I now have the same feeling about artificial intelligence, In fact , I have commented before that I believe that we are currently on the cusp of a new age – like the stone age , bronze age , iron age , and the information age - now we have entered the Intelligence Age .

It's an age that will be driven by artificial intelligence which will be ubiquitous and all around us – without us really even realizing it. But that isn't the point of this post – I may cover that topic later – today , I want to talk about how AI, the blockchain and quantum computing will all work together to form the new future of humanity.

Artificial Intelligence

AI has been slowly but surely making it's way into the conscious of society. We have all been teased with friendly androids like “Data” from Star Trek and threatened with ominous ones such as “H.A.L.” from 2001. I think the truth lies somewhere in-between – though we are still quite a ways from either of those. Artificial intelligence is no longer confined to high level computer scientists from MIT - they have been working on it since the 1940's and have close to 80 years of development. Many companies are now heavily invested in it and now, in an unprecedented move for the industry – they are releasing developers kits to the general public to play with. Now anyone with a computer and internet connection can tap into the power of AI and write programs and apps that use it. There are already many products and programs that utilize AI as a standard part of how it works , such as the google self-driving car, personal assistants like Alexa and Siri, credit card fraud protection, video games, and many thing we never even think abuat such as purchasing prediction from large retailers such as Amazon , Target or Walmart. It will be interesting to see what the kids in the basement come up with.

Blockchain

Obviously AI is becoming more and more common and it's being implemented in more applications on a daily basis – but blockchain technology is also going to be big game changer. Those who are familiar with it , know that the blockchain is a decentralized incorruptible open ledger system that can track all transactions happening in it and cannot be deleted from the system. Picture a spreadsheet that is duplicated thousands of times across a network of computers. Then imagine that this network is designed to regularly update this spreadsheet and you have a basic understanding of the blockchain.

For this reason , I see most transactions moving to the blockchain. In today's world, governments and corporations love to track things - anything ; people, products, animals, food, cell phones, toasters. We are starting to see the IOT or “Internet of Things” where everything is smart and connected. What they are really doing is gathering data, storing it , and using it to market more products to you – or to simply sell your info as a product to someone else. The blockchain will help to facilitate all this information and make sure that profiles aren't corrupted and that they know likes, preferences and settings of everyone for everything.

But beyond that , there is so much opportunity to disrupt many industries. For example, right now in the real estate field – title companies use what is called a chain of title to ensure that they know who owned the property, who they sold it too and for how much , any liens or unpaid taxes, any permitted work that was done that would change the square footage or the value of the home and other pertinent information about the property. Using block chain technology, a record could be created with all the info on the property and from that point forward it would be publicly accessible and incorruptible so any one could access the data for free instantly. Compare this to how things are done right now , it takes several day sand cost hundreds of dollars. Blockchain could completely disrupt this industry and make title companies about as relevant as the pony express.

Quantum Computing

This brings me to Quantum computing -Without going into the details of it – quantum computing runs algorithms much faster than a traditional computer with data processing happening at close to an atomic level. Read the link to learn more about it – again , this is not a primer for Quantum computing – just some thoughts on the impact of it. With the growth of the blockchain , and the development of AI , we are going to need much more computer power and QC is going to be the platform this takes place on.

Much like humans, artificial intelligence machines powered by quantum computers can learn from experience and self-correct. It is not going to happen with traditional computing power –quantum computers will help artificial intelligence expand to more industries and help technology become much more intuitive very quickly. With the trillions of points of data to keep track of – quantum computing will help to alleviate the bottleneck that is throttling progress today.
Some of the other industries that can benefit from the use of QC can include online security, weather prediction, traffic control, drug development, and manufacturing.

So, when we have AI programs, using the power of quantum computing to write new programs that utilize the blockchain to decentralize and disrupt industries – we are going to see an entirely different world than we are used to seeing right now.

I don't know the impact of all of this just yet – but I believe that we will see it happening before we even realize it. What are you thoughts on the subject and what industry do you see as being the most impacted?
