It's @mineopoly from The Groovy School

inviting you to join a virtual adventure of community, curation and enlightenment. I get paid to go to school.

Welcome to:

I'm a teacher and I think

everybody should get paid to go to school. That's why I opened Groovy School. Every day we learn something new and everybody who participates gets paid.

Monday's lesson is: Wisdom

The best place to look for wisdom is Proverbs. We will look at ancient Chinese and Korean proverbs for Wisdom class.

Today's proverb comes from four characters pronounced:

무 = mu 한 = han 부 = bu 득 = deuk

무한부득

無汗不得

This is directly translated as "No Sweat No Gain."

"땀을 흘리지 않으면 얻을 수 없다."

We cannot get anything unless we sweat for it.

This is the secret to success

in anything especially language acquisition. It won't come easy at first. One of the great things about the Steemit community is that we can cross over our comfort zone and practice foreign languages with anybody around the world. Nobody laughed at me when I started making comments in Korean or Spanish or German. Instead they responded kindly. I know that my grammar is not perfect when I use second languages but that is no reason to stop me. If you don't use it you lose it. Today's wisdom is sweat not sweet.

As proof of sweat

I have been making comments on Korean posts for the past weeks visiting @happyworkingmom and @virus707 and writing comments in Korean.

Original Poem @mineopoly

Perspiration comes after a hard days work.
To some it is not a sweet aroma
But to the worker it is sweet to ponder
The works of his hands.
There is proof of work
The sweat that falls from his brow.

The worker deserves his wages for the sweat
That pours down is the sign to attest
That this was something worth doing.

The worker wipes the sweat
And looks up the sky.
Success comes not in the prize
But the satisfaction comes in the endorphines
That awaken with a drop of sweat.

I love you all ♥

Stay Groovy,

Do you agree with 무한부득 Mu-han-bu-deuk?

Do we need to sweat for success?

Feel free to comment.

Link any post about wisdom in the comments so we can learn together.

Or just make any comment as long as you are learning.

Wow @mineopoly, this is very impressive and education is something that needs radical change such as this. I really think you have something here that can make a great impact! I hope you continue expanding the Groovy School and get more students!

Do you agree with 무한부득 Mu-han-bu-deuk? Do we need to sweat for success?

I agree, hard work and sweat equity is the only way to make it in this world. If you don't put in any work, you shouldn't expect any results. I see this very often with new posters on steemit and with a few close friends who have tried to make it on steemit - they make 1 post every other day for 1 week on steemit and if they don't see the traction they were expecting, they cut and run. 3 or 4 posts in 1 week is not enough sweat equity to entitle you to any results!!! Thanks for sharing this and I'll keep up with these posts as best as I can, I look forward to seeing how the Groovy School progresses!

Thanks for your comment @khaleelkazi.

education is something that needs radical change such as this.

I teach elementary school but and spend a lot of time on Korean University campuses. The big difference is elementary school students participate in the lecture and activities while university students sit in a lecture hall doing nothing that has to do with interaction or learning. I'm really thankful to have my job and interact with elementary school students. I have found areas that individual students need help and would like to help them. I'm still in the process of figuring out the best way to do this. If Groovy School can help with this it will be great. I will designate specific posts to specific projects and use 10% of my total pay outs for charity.

I'm so thankful to keep up Groovy School going every day this week. Saturday will be a whole week of Groovy School. It was not easy because of the Korean Lunar New Year holiday to keep up with the blog. Our family needs special attention.

I am very thankful for all those who "dropped in" and left comments especially you @khaleelkazi who in blogging and in the finance investments are light years ahead of me. I will give a portion of the proceeds to this post to each participant and reward Groovy Schoolers who make regular visits.

I'll keep up with these posts as best as I can

Thank you for your support. There are six classes. I think you will like Monday Wisdom because it really is an introduction to ancient Asian thought. Feel free to drop in any time :)

You have been a great friend and encouragement. I am among the the ones who should have cut and run but but I kept at it as if I were mining a block. You don't just set up the miner and get results. Even if you are in a mining pool you won't see big results even in a day but it takes a long time and a lot of luck.

I think I would have quit around Christmas time last year if I had not met a few great Steemians who began a wonderful community of engagement and interaction.

Thank you very much.

It is all about learning and getting better. And, you are absolutely right with "NO SWEAT, NO GAIN" theory because it is true. Sometimes it does mean literally sweat, but maybe like you writing comments in different languages and practicing other languages. That is what it is all about.

LIFE is one BIG SCHOOL for all of us.

Great post, my friend. Keep it up. :)

This is the inciteful comment I need to awaken to life. Thank you. I got one step closer @awakentolife. After some rest and looking back I see that all of Steemit is a groovy school so I don't deserve to call this place "groovy school." I will upvote comments and encourage posts today with wisdom and your comment and your posts are filled with simple wisdom everyday. I think I will continue this attitude toward life and posting but not sure about calling every post the groovy school. I love you guys who work with @thesteemengine but curating is really hard work. I'm still torn between posting whatever I feel like or following a pattern and theme. I like your posts because they are simple and clear but at they same time filled with life and joy and hope. Thank you my friend.

This is great! I think it is right up ur ally my friend.. i am excited to see how this goes, i think it will take a lil while to catch on and get a good following but i think people will enjoy it.

i always say knowledge is power 😉

Thank you very much for being there right when I need you. My heart is to open a wonderful drop in school and support a few kids with learning disorders with the profits in maybe a year I could get a small payout to help a kid. I see it's a lot more difficult than I imagined so I will take it slow and keep offering classes in the style of my old posts like writing and a poem at the end. When people comment something about the post I will upvote them. Thanks for the big upvote and keeping track of me.

Hey dear @mineopoly,

I love your idea a lot. This is really great initiative and I am very happy to see the responses you are getting.

I am a fan of learning what I can in life and I love anyone that is not afraid of learning and improving, no matter how much a level of education they reach. There is no human that knows enough.

I believe in "The more I learn, the more I know that I don't know anything yet" (Not sure who said it though! or Maybe I just made it up :P). But that is truly what I feel

Keep up the great work my dear :D

Thanks for the wonderful comment on this post @theleapingkoala. I am kept the Groovy School idea going for three days now but got rid of the rules and got rid of the title that makes it sound like a financial aid scam. This is totally a free school to drop in. Thanks for dropping in. I know you already finished your PhD which makes me honored to see your visit.

  • Your quote is wonderful. Originally it came from the ancient Greeks. Aristotle was the first to write it down but it came from Socrates. Albert Einstein made it famous again in the 20th century. It sounds better coming from you.

  • If you feel you do not know anything then you are in the right place. I am sticking with you. The similarity in all the authors I follow regardless of their rep number or SP is they are really humble people. You are really an awesome curator and Steemian. I'm still just getting started but would like some friends to stop by and help me out. I think it is just a matter of time and consistency.

Thank you very much my dear for the info. You just proved it to be true. I may have a PhD, but I still I didn't know who said such a wonderful quote.

Studying in school is one thing and studying in life is another. The first gives us a degrees (which a lot of time accompanied by arrogance) that is not very useful in life. The latter gives us wisdom and humility.

I always follow the latter :D

Thanks for accepting me in your school and for being a great teacher <3

Best of luck with your educational efforts :D

Thank you for sharing. Groovy School seems to be suitable for us. I will reward those who participate in this post as well as though who are active in Groovy School. You get extra points for humbleness and proof of comment.
May your journey of life school be prosperous and a blessing continually.

“No sweat, no gain’ is about the size of it! We all have to work hard to improve and make our place in the world.
I though The goose that laid the golden egg had a moral lesson about greed.

Thank you for the link @redheadpei. You are the first to 100% engage this post. I will look at that goose again and see what I can do ^-^

Welcome @mineopoly. Resteemed your post

Thank you. Actually you are the winner in Groovy school. It might take about a day but I will prepare a present for you and each who participated. Happy Valentine's Day.

Thanks @mineopoly. Happy Valentine’s Day!

what is this for sir?

Thanks for the question. It is very important.

I wanted to interact by proving a virtual school through this post. These are topics I like to post about. I want to reward Steemians who make a comment and engage the posts. Today's topic was wisdom.

If you coment about wisdom I will give a vote. I you link any post with wisdom even the wisdom of using water filters then I will vote for the post and possible resteem it.

I thought it would be a good way to engage readers but maybe I need to keep it more simple.

You can also participate as a student teacher and vote the comments.

But yeah... i don't see any comments.

I will give it some time. If not then I will go back to my old style of just randomly being groovy.

Maybe I need to pay attention to what Nemo's friend Dory said, "Just keep swimming"

i see. that's a great idea ^^)

all that's left is for the readers to see this. but regardless, success or not, listen to what Dory always says to "Just keep swimming."

I absolutely love this spirit of this post and I 100% relate to your uncertainty of whether to post according to a program or just post whatever you feel like it whenever you feel like it.

I believe as teachers, we should stick together. How about this: You commit to only two days in a week of "program posts", say a Monday and a Thursday, and leave the rest free for whatever your heart decides on the day =) ...

And lol at your comment about the bot. I wouldn't worry much... We minnows need their support if we want to one day help little minnows like ourselves one day.

Congrats on over 5$ for this post btw... I'm lucky if I reach 1$ ;)

Thank you @mendelsage. You are very talented and wise. I will actually keep the schedule as a guide but do whatever I feel like. I'm glad to meet another teacher.

Congratulations! This post has been chosen as one of the daily Whistle Stops for The STEEM Engine!

I learned a valuable lesson from the bot today. I learned these bots don't make a post look pretty. If I use a bot again I will look for that tree bot. I'm sorry if upmyvote is offended. But it was my eagerness to promote the post that brought him here.

Another lesson on wisdom: Success is more than hard work and sweat. It requires consistency and if possible some smartness.

Well said my friend..

I like where you're going with this. Let me know how I can help. Still trying to wrap my head around the best ways to use steemit.

Just leave a comment everyonce and a while. That helps.

For you personally keep posting regular like you are doing. You can try registering with @qurator. They will promote and upvote your posts. There is a measure of sweet equity as well as smarts and being at the right place at the right time.

Totally be yourself.

Noted! Thanks.
