Who To Follow (WTF!) Daily - The Steemit Marketplace

in #wtf7 years ago (edited)

Oh my, what a time to be alive! I was looking through some old posts and found one very interesting post written by @dan (I couldn't help it, If you are looking through old posts it's inevitable that you stumble across something the big whales wrote). The post mentions a marketplace. Not like the market we have right now but more like OpenBazaar, Craigslist and eBay.

Total World Domination

Dan calls it "Steemit's Evil Plan for Cryptocurrency World Domination". I don't think it's an evil plan. However I believe this is a brilliant plan which will contribute to Steemit in such a manner that the world will talk about nothing else but Steemit.

Once this will be implemented everything and anything will become part of Steemit in a short timespan. If the marketplace would become an ebay like place where you would be able to buy and sell anything and get paid in Steem or SBD two things will happens:

  1. Millions of people will join Steemit in a short timespan
  2. The price of SBD and Steem will go to the Moon

The Crypto Future

I believe adding the Marketplace to Steemit will do the same to Steem as what Silk Road did for Bitcoin. It establishes the currency and makes it widely accepted. Where Bitcoin was meant to become the future when it started it will now merely be a highly traded cryptocurrency. Steem however has the advantage that it doesn't use or need the Darknet. Housewives, Artists, Officers and basically all walks of life have gathered already on Steemit and once the market will open they too will use it.

So it's really low key and everyone can and will be using it. This is actually the same thing Dan figured out over a year ago.

The real money isn’t in blogging, content generation, or voting. The real money is found in bootstrapping a digital currency. A currency owned and operated in a decentralized way by ordinary people.

You see, it really is the future

We are lucky

Consider yourself lucky for the simple fact that you have found out about Steemit before the Marketplace has been launched. Because the idea is around since the first days and everyday that passes brings us closer to the Steemit Markeplace. This place is full of people waiting for an opportunity like this and the most of them have patience to wait for it. It doesn't mean that we need to wait for another year, however at this point it still is a bit unclear when it will start really. In Dan's words we are ripe for this marketplace in any way.

This is an environment that is ripe for a rich market place where people can exchange real goods and services along with their ideas.

Other Markets but not this one

A quick search on Steemit shows that there a few other "Markeplace-like" ideas and initiatives but imho none of them are quite what the Steemit Marketplace could become. A marketplace run by ordinary people who trade with a decentralized currency. Once this happens everybody will want to join Steemit as fast as they can. Dan's prediction is on point:

If ever there were a website / marketplace that would bring cryptocurrency to the masses, steemit.com is it.

Additional ideas

I would love to see an option to use some kind of affiliate system where you can select products from the markeplace you want to sell. That's just one but I am fairly certain you guys can come up with tons of ideas which I would love to see. Just leave them in the comment section and maybe some of these might get pickep up one way or another :)

Now it time for some serious business. It's time for todays....

Who To Follow

Today I decided to give you the list of people to follow that replied to @dan's post a year ago. I filtered the people that are inactive and/or have had a recent mention on my WTF! Daily. I hope you give these people the respect they deserve. Oh, and it's obvious that you need to follow Dan just for that matter.

trog.png
@troglodactyl As one who is around since the first day's of Steemit it's really unbelievable that he only nets 209 followers. Have you guys got no respect for the people who raised Steemit to the point where it is now? Do you realize that you probably would not have been here without the help of @troglodactyl? Now make it right to him and quickly read up on his last post. Hit it with some sweet upvoting love and make sure to follow his ass!

dash.png
@thedashguy What do you do when you are around since the first days and have no more inspiration to write long and extended posts? Exactle, you play the curation game! And this guy plays it very well. He resteems some posts now and then and keeps himself busy redeeming the curation rewards once in a while. Respect him by paying him a visit and by following him. You might even want to consider connetcing with him if you see him around on discord or the chat.

stellabella.png
@Stellabelle Ah yes, a name that sounds quite familiar. It sure does considering she is around since over a year now. And with over 4000 followers a much respected member of Steemit Society. Did she give up when she started and her posts did not reward her much? NOOOO she continued and eventually even used her beginnings as inspiration for a series called "Steemicide". She has great humor and even when it doesn't look like she is posting a lot, she is commenting almost on every posts there is :D.

dana.png
@Dana-Edwards is very very very active when it comes down to posting new content. And those posts are certainly no meme type of posts as they are full of interesting matter and get you to think about them. You actually are invited to the discussion by each and every posts that hits the account. This makes this account in my opinion a certain "One to follow".

kencode.png
@kencode Looking at his account I understand why he is around since the first days of Steemit. This guy is into technology like a shark is into water. He posts very regularly about the newest trends and developments and even does some product reviews about the latest gadgets, wallets etc. He is a true Agorist. If this is your buff then this is the account to follow!

Rok SIvante.png
@rok-sivante This is actually one of my favorite accounts I found today. The posts are so well put together and the frequency of posting is regular so I will never get bored if I would only follow this account. A lot of Psychology and Philosophy but imho even with posts that get rewarded $100+ still undervalued. If you consider yourself someone who has an open mind and loves to think about things than I'd suggest that you hit this account with a follow and enjoy the ride!

@gomeravibz Is a very very very active member on Steemspeak discord chat. The posts have a "conspiracy" vibe but are very in depth when it comes down to it. The more posts I see the more I value the content I read as we seem to be very like minded. But to see Gomera around since the early days surprised me too. I know Gomera is very well respected so I belive you should show your respect too by hitting that follow button and upvoting the next post that comes along. Just don't forget to read it before upvoting and resteeming!

@pal Follow him around for the weekly edition of the "Best Curators of the week". Might not look very active besides that but if you look closely you'll see loads of activity. Loves to curate good content and if he's around he actually doesn't hold back on commenting here and there. Deserves some more Steemian love imo so follow, upvote and resteem when you get the chance.

@valtr A great account for photography lovers. Posts mainly about his life in and around the Czech Republic so you know there are some beuatiful pictures around. He also loves to curate posts mainly in the Photography section so if you are a picture enthusiast and you post a lot of those you might get an upvote or two from him.

@trevonjb Most of the Steemians will know him by now. If you haven't seen one of his post in the "Hot" or "Trending" section you might as well be blind. However, Trevon shows us that all things have to start somewhere and I might even have found one of his first comments. He states:

Got the first vote! Lol this is going to be very hard to achieve in the future! On another note this is an awesome post and my excitement for this platform grows by the second. I haven't been on Twitter or Facebook since yesterday! HA!

So in other words, he once was that same enthusiast newbie you and I were too! Nowadays he is a bit more experienced and entertains us with his vlog mainly about the cryptocurrencies.

@arhag Again looking at this account might have you wondering if it's active at all. If you look closely you'll see a whole lot of activity going on. Commenting and Curating is the key to Arhag's success. An occasional post is just courtesy to leave us a bit of the pie. We should thank Arhag for not eating the whole pie and leaving us with the crumbles.

@ash is a marketeer who loves to write about his favorite subject: COINS! And he treats us almost daily with a new and fresh post about cryptos, marketupdates, developments etcetera. He really knows how to inform us well. His last post about the most hated family by everything that loves humanity buying bitcoin didn't come as a shocker as something like that was to be expected.

@eric-boucher Another resteeming curator of the first hour. He prooves like may other that you can have a very good time on Steemit just by upvoting and resteeming good content. He reserves his time mainly for commenting on those posts that he just upvoted and curated. Totally deserve a mention on today's Who To Follow!
