Ch1 Jessica (Rabbit) has entered the Lion’s Den – Wolf’s Den – of her own accord and is neck-deep in her greatest desire (Be careful what you wish for).
Ch2 Red is speaking to a Wolf she knew from long ago and has been astonished once by his revelation.
Ch3 Jessica is in over her head, no other human in sight and is bouncing from one encounter to the next - including in the dream-state.
Ch4 Jessica has an interview with the 'Big Boss', finds out she has a mentor - not Paul, and is the cause for disquiet among the Werewolves. All fun and games - at least she knows that if anyone goes against the orders and takes her as prey, they will be seriously reprimanded...
Chapter 5
The Wolf sat in wait, a victim would be along shortly – there was always a victim along shortly.
Up high in his vantage spot, all points of the compass easily observed, with only a slight alteration in position. It was preferable in some ways to hunting a victim. Of course, the thrill of the hunt had its place, but tonight he had decided that Fate must take a hand.
His reverie was interrupted by the sound of laughter far below him. He looked over the parapet of the bridge and saw three women with arms linked, chattering between them. He had second thoughts then, he preferred single, or upon very rare occasions, double victims. He had never tried a threesome before - or at least, not in that way.
He felt the saliva run to the end of his right fang, the tip of his tongue touched the droplet which had cooled on the point.
Adrenalin build-up made his heart beat stronger and faster. His stomach growled in anticipation and he looked down to his midriff, lightly touching the shirt which he had carefully chosen.
He always looked his best when he prepared to kill.
He clambered down from the parapet and sprinted around to get ahead of the trio. When he was satisfied that he was far enough away and had not been noticed, he stopped, checked his appearance in a shop window and then turned to walk back towards the three women.
At first they didn’t take much notice of him, but as he got closer, his physique and immaculate dress caught their eyes.
The central woman stopped talking and nudged both of her companions and they too looked and began giggling – as women seem wont to do – especially when they have been slurping alcohol all evening.
They spread themselves out a little to widen the area that they took up on the pathway. Their collective demeanour altered subtly and they became more assertive – almost aggressive.
“Look girls,” the one on the right as he faced them said. “It’s a man out on his own, at this time of night.”
“I wonder if he realises it’s not safe to be out alone?” another asked. “Do you think he needs an escort?”
They erupted into giggles again and the Wolf smiled.
When they saw his smile, the women seemed to pause for a moment. The one on the left in particular, she hadn’t yet spoken and she didn’t seem as drunk as her friends.
He was immensely surprised when the smile disappeared from her face to be replaced by wide eyes and gaping mouth in an expression of utter horror, and she dragged on her friend’s arm and pulled her to their right and she in turn, pulled on the other friend’s arm so that together, they all seemed to be bypassing the predator.
His disappointment did not turn to anger, as some men might in a similar circumstance.
He accepted that Fate – for this evening – had taken a hand in saving the lives of the three women.
He had never taken three victims as a group on his own before tonight – that experience would have to wait – but he knew that he would not hesitate the next time opportunity presented him with a trio.
He allowed the women to avoid him, his smile never wavered.
He did not attempt to bar their passage, or to persuade them to change their minds. But then he was pleasantly surprised as the woman closest to him broke free from her friends and stood right in front of him, looking up at him appraisingly – almost critically.
Her hand reached forward to touch his chest and then lower to his stomach. She turned to her friends who had paused to wait for her and grinned.
Then both her hands went up to feel his chest through the fabric of his shirt.
“Ooh, you work out, don’t you,” it was a statement of delight, not a question. “Just wait ‘til you feel these titties girls!” She squealed in her excitement.
He heard a warning although he was not meant to. “This isn’t right Callie. Get Leigh away from him, she’ll not listen to me, just get her away!” the sober girl whispered as she tried to pull her friend along with her and away from him.
“Oh get a grip Syl. Leigh’s only havin’ a bit of fun. Jesus, you shouldn’t have offered to drive if it makes you this paranoid when you’re sober.”
Callie pulled away from her friend and went over to join Leigh.
Callie and Leigh were invited to join the handsome and alluring man at a club and they agreed.
When they turned to look at their friend to ask if she would like to join them, Syl declined, she shook her head and backed off.
She watched as the dangerous man draped his arms around his friends’ shoulders and turned them away from her.
Then he turned his head back towards the sensible Syl to glint a wicked smile in her direction and she didn’t try to dissuade them any further.
She turned and ran like the hounds of hell were after her, her coat flapped behind as though she had a demented spirit chasing her.
your job is great, not everyone can do it.
book after book that you publish, extraordinary.
Thank you... I have been at this for a while, though :)
Michelle do you know what the the ending of your books will be from the moment you start writing them or do you figure it out as you go along?
No. the ending can come as as shock... just as much of a shock as it does to my readers.
This is very cool!
Hey @ladydi748 thanks for coming to check out my work. And thank you :)
So Syl may be like Jessica. This wolf, though no name mentioned. It's not Entwistle I am sure of that. It could be Paul, but I don't think so. A new player maybe. Yes I think a new player, a new twist.
:) You're enjoying this, aren't you? ;)
Absolutely. It is a fun story to read. I love speculating, I do the same with any book I read. When I read a well written piece of work it is like watching a movie. I don't just read them, I see them.
Perfect! I like to think that's how I write.
You do and this is a great show.
Hi, friend
I love to post you this one, Gives me a lot of motivation.
Hopefully you always post news like this, and give benefits to everyone.
May God always bless you and your family. 😍
Thank you :)
And to you and yours :)
A rogue Wolf? May attract the attention of the hume population...bad for the pack?
Just guessing....hmm, two throwbacks, sisters or hunter blood?
Don't tell me, I want to find out as the story unfolds.
And the journey shall be interesting :)
Thank you :)
