The legacy behind the “SAW” saga / El legado detrás de la saga de “Juegos Macabros”

Feliz Sábado para todos mis seguidores y para todos los nuevos Steemians que se han unido hoy a nuestra comunidad.

Last week my wife and I watched the full “SAW” saga (yeah, the 8 movies!) and I must say it’s for me one of the best planned movie stories I’ve ever seen because no one saves from Kramer and his particular way to take revenge. However, behind blood and sadistic punishment, there are some priceless lessons we could take in count as they really apply in real life, so I will show you what we deducted from this spectacular saga as the lessons we call “legacy”.

La semana pasada, mi esposa y yo vimos la saga completa de “Juegos Macabros” (¡síiiii, las ocho películas!) y debo decir que es para mí una de las historias de películas mejor planeadas que he visto porque nadie se salva de Kramer y su particular forma de tomar venganza. Sin embargo, detrás de la sangre y del sádico castigo, hay unas lecciones invaluables que podríamos tener en cuenta ya que realmente aplican en nuestra vida real, así que les mostraré lo que dedujimos de esta espectacular saga como las lecciones que llamamos “legado”.

1. Value your family / Valora a tu familia

You don’t know whether tomorrow you’ll be alive or not and can see your family when you wake up. You also don’t know whether anything will happen to you or to your family when going out to the street or your workplace, so make sure you treasure every single moment with them.

Tú no sabes si mañana estarás vivo o no y puedas ver a tu familia cuando despiertes. Tampoco sabes si algo te pasará a ti o a tu familia cuando salgas a la calle o a tu trabajo, así que asegúrate de atesorar cada momento con ellos.

2. Value time / Valorar el tiempo

Not wasting our time in stuff that doesn’t matter or are not worth should be one of our habits or even one of our main life rules since when we realice we haven’t made what we should do, we’re surely gonna regret it later.

No desperdiciar nuestro tiempo en cosas que no interesan o que no valen la pena debería ser uno de nuestros hábitos o más bien una de nuestras principales reglas de vida puesto que, cuando nos demos cuenta de que no hemos hecho lo que deberíamos hacer, seguramente lo vamos a lamentar.

3. Value life / Valorar la vida.

Respecting our body by not contaminating it with drugs or anything that can harm it is what Jigsaw invites us to do with some of the stories told through the saga. Besides, respecting other people’s life is also very important as we must remember that life (whatever it’s our or others) has to be cherished, I mean why we always want to make people suffer through raping or robbing its belongings or even hurting them? Isn’t it enough with their suffering or struggling for us to help increase their pain or disgrace? Desire for others’ suffering doesn’t fit in my head.

Respetar nuestro cuerpo al no contaminarlo con drogas u otra cosa que pueda dañarlo es lo que nos invita a hacer Jigsaw con algunas de las historias contadas a través de la saga. Además, respetar la vida de otros es también muy importante ya que debemos recordar que la vida (sea la nuestra o la de otros) debe ser apreciada; digo, ¿por qué queremos siempre hacer que la gente sufra a través de la violación o del robo de sus pertenencias o incluso lastimándolos? ¿No es suficiente con su sufrimiento o su lucha para que nosotros ayudemos a aumentar su dolor o desgracia? No me cabe en la cabeza el deseo por el sufrimiento de otros.

4. Taking decisions / Tomar decisiones.

Good and bad decisions rule our lives and give it that unique sense we all value and appreciate, that’s what we call life indeed. For this particular case, decisions taken by the actors have lead them to the grave as with these ones they have hurt or affected someone else’s life, so my point here is that we should be more conscious when it comes to taking decisions that can affect positively or negatively our lives ‘cause we musf afford the consequences once they’ve been taken.

Las buenas y malas decisiones gobiernan nuestras vidas y le dan ese sentido único que todos valoramos y apreciamos, de hecho eso es lo que llamamos vida. Para este caso en particular, las decisiones tomadas por los actores los han llevado a la tumba ya que con éstas ellos han lastimado o afectado la vida de alguien más, así que mi punto aquí es que debemos ser más conscientes cuando se trata de tomar decisiones que puedan afectar positiva o negativamente nuestras vidas porque debemos afrontar las consecuencias una vez hayan sido tomadas.

5. Self punishment / El autocastigo.

You don’t have to blame yourself for some things you can’t control. You can’t let your relationships be destroyed due to unfortunate situations based on that guilt. Instead of that, take your time to grieve, to reflect in what happened and move on ‘cause life is too beautiful as for wasting your time and energy in something you can’t change.

No tienes que culparte a ti mismo por cosas que no puedes controlar. No puedes dejar que tus relaciones se destruyan debido a situaciones infortunadas basadas en esa culpa. En vez de eso, tómate tu tiempo para hacer duelo, para reflexionar en lo que pasó y sigue adelante porque la vida es demasiado bella como para perder tu tiempo y energía en algo que no puedes cambiar.

6. Follow instructions when you’re told to / Seguir instrucciones cuando se te dice.

If someone tells you that you must do something that suits you, it’s because that person really knows that it’s the best for you. Haven’t happened to you – for example, with your parents – that they tell you to not do something and yet still you do it and later something wrong happens? I’ve been there – I’m sure you too – and that’s why there’s to follow instructions or advices when you’re told to.

Si alguien te dice que debes hacer algo que te conviene, es porque esa persona sabe realmente que es lo mejor para ti. ¿No les ha pasado – por ejemplo, con sus padres – que te dicen que no hagas algo y aun así lo haces y después algo malo pasa? Me ha pasado – estoy seguro de que a ustedes también – y es por eso que hay que seguir las instrucciones o consejos cuando se te dice.
