What does it mean?

According to the dictionaries..

-it means a feeling of happiness, of great pleasure, also success or satisfaction , often synonym with "delight", "triumph" , "elation" , "glee" , even "luck" to some extent.

Origin

The word joy, comes from the Middle English joye, borrowed from Old French joie. First known use in English is said to be around 14th century.
