With the holiday season midway through, and the New Year looming on us - myself and @derangedvisions would like to give you a short update on our Witness, right now we continue to rank well in the top 100 Witness list and we would like to thank all our dedicated Witness voters for your support throughout 2018. As always we remain dedicated to supporting the Steem Blockchain and our valued variety of users, and in 2019 we will continue this as well as welcoming new accounts making use of the new variety of aspects we can all use the Steem Blockchain, through the blogging frontends and growing range of dApps.

Our primary Witness Server is continuing to run smoothly, and has been update to the latest version of Steemd v0.20.8, in addition our backup Server is also fully live and remains ready for when it is needed. Again it is upto date, running the latest Steemd version and I am constantly keeping an eye on the development of our blockchain processing software - the backup is also there to trial new releases and assess the impact they might make.

While 2018 has been a turbulent year for cryptocurrency in general, and the corresponding dip in Steem value has created some interesting outlooks on the blockchains future - I'm pleased to see our active users with Stakes in Steem of all sizes keeping engaged and looking to see how the tide can be turned and the value of Steem can rise again. @pennsif continues to be a true inspiration, following on from his State of Steem forums on PAL discord - MSP Waves Thursdays 8pm to 11pm he has also set up a dedicated State of Steem discord for anyone interested in bringing value back to the blockchain to get together and get involved.

And @kabir88 is brining together a Dolphin Council of dedicated, active stake holders with Dolphin up stake to find even more ways to continue to promote and maintain the growth of our active users. Now more then ever we need to work together as an active, engaged community to improve how the Steem blockchain is seen from the outside - if we want to see more investment then seeing an active, collaborating group of people that work together can only help.

@enginewitty continues to inspire so many throughout communities, as one of our more active Witnesses he pretty much supports more discord shows then anyone I know, runs the now open @thealliance discord and keeps bringing the true family values of supporting each other to the Steem Blockchain which keeps so many of my favourite accounts here and active.

This all shows me that we still have an active, thriving community around Steem, and with so many community groups like @helpie, @welcomewagon, @yougotsnekked and SteemTerminal there are many places for newly created accounts to learn and find friendship.

So 2019 is still looking very bright in my eyes, and let's keep that positivity going by randomly choosing a few @c0ff33a witness voters to receive @steembasicincome shares - SBI gives an upvote on your posts, and the more SBI shares you gain the bigger that upvote grows. It's a great way to encourage posting - because you only receive the benefit when you create a post.
