PAX 2018 Trip - Saturday at PAX East
Hello again, fellow gamers and steemians! Our second and last day at the convention center was just as fun and memorable.
We decided to walk to the center instead of wait for the shuttle that day.
Walking around with the wind chill last year was brutal, so this year I got to enjoy the scenery more.
I couldn't help but take a few shots of the river before crossing one of the bridges.
The irony of this photo of the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center is that I've cropped out a fun sight..
We watched for a second as some of the local USPS drivers did their driving course and we kept on.
Dat structure though..
We waited forever to try to play Ashes of Creation and in the end we wound up leaving to get decent seats for the PUBG event.
The game caught my girlfriend's eye and I'll have to admit after looking more into it, it seem to be a step in the right direction for newer MMO's.
Ashes of Creation is a unique take on the MMO experience. Our world structure is dynamic and built to react to the actions of our players. Cities will rise and fall, their populations based on the history of the world as the players create it. Quests will unlock as these populations gather, their needs grow, and secrets are unlocked.
As the world’s NPC structure is established in real time, players will have the ability to destroy what they’ve created, paving the way for new development, new populations, and real change. Political strife and intrigue will play a very real role in the structure of your world.
Gone are the days of static worlds, change is here to stay.
The game overall sounds like TROVE and other games starting to push these concepts, but it looks really good and sounds very promising. Some of the features they're pushing are,
- Housing
- Questing
- Sieges
- PvE
- PvP
- Caravans
- Trade
- Crafting and Gathering
Ashes of Creation - [Pre-Alpha In-Game Footage] - A Mage's life Normally selecting the mage class in MMO's I was excited to see this footage and am going to keep an eye on this one.
Watching Deadmau5, PLAYERUNKOWN, and Major Nelson play PUBG was a lot of fun and a huge highlight of my Saturday at the convention center. Be sure to check out more of that in my PUBG at PAX East 2018 post.
I still need to get a new controller to put this controller skin on!
We saw a lot of great cosplays but these guys promoting the Overwatch Payload Tour definitely had one of the best ones I saw.
We went back with the new card expansion and my Joking Hazard game and got it signed again and he drew on the box as well as poster.
The various things he was drawing on the merch were hilarious.
We spent a decent amount of time in the indie section. You can read more about some of those games in my PAX 2018 Trip - Games Galore! post
I already can't wait to go back to PAX East again next year!

Hello Steemians!
I love how I saw the first few pictures and IMMEDIATELY recognized that you were in Boston lol! Glad you enjoyed your trip and had a safe travel home!
Looks like a really fun trip you had. I've been keeping an eye on Ashes of Creation as well. That, and Crowfall (in development MMORPG too). So you didn't get to try Ashes of Creation at all?
We stood \ sat \ inched forward for easily over an hour in line. It had a huge turnout both days and a ton of people waiting in line and giving up after hours. At one point they closed the PvP lane just so they could have twice as many sessions going.. and we had some press pass people cut us for reviews so.. Further back we went.. In hindsight we should have hopped to that other line -_-
You basically were waiting for all the people in front of you to finish playing for probably around 45 minutes a group.. So great for those who got the chance to play.
