The local gem safari #10 - Ruine Landskron

Willkommen zu einer neuen Ausgabe der Local Gem Safari! In dieser Serie könnt Ihr mich an Orte Eurer Wahl schicken und ich werde berichten, worauf ich dort stosse.

Und so funktioniert´s: Am Ende dieses Beitrages findet ihr den Aktionsradius innherhalb dessen Ihr mich einmal pro Woche losschicken könnt. Entnehmt Google maps die Koordinaten oder die Bezeichnung des Ortes der Euch interessiert, und postet diese als Kommentar. Ihr könnt angeben, was genau ich dort für Euch einfangen soll Oder Ihr überlaßt es mir zu entscheiden, was ich von dort berichte.

Der Vorschlag mit den meisten Upvotes nach der ersten Auszahlung gibt das Ziel für die nächste Safari vor und wird mit 25% der Einnahmen des ersten daraus folgenden Beitrages belohnt!

Welcome to a new episode of the local gem safari ! In this series you can send me out to places of your choice and I will report back to you what I stumble upon! This is how it works: At the end of this post you´ll find the perimeter within which you can send me around once every week. Grab the coordinates or the name of the place of your interest from google maps and post it to the comments. You can either specify what you want me to capture at that location Or you simply leave it up to me to decide what I find worth reporting from there. The proposal with the most upvotes after the first payout will send me to the next destination and will be rewarded with 25% of the earnings of the first resulting post!

Von der goldenen Nachmittagssonne beschienen erscheint vor uns die Ruine der 700 Jahre alten Burg Landskron.

Ende des 13. Jahrhunderts wurde die Burg von den Münchs zu Basel gebaut. Die Familie Münch gehörte zum Basler Stadtadel und hatte mit der Burg Lantzkrone ihren Landsitz errichtet.

The castle was built end of the 13th century by the family Münch from Basel. The Lantzkrone (crown of the country) became their country residence.

Die letzte Stunde der Landskron schlug im Dezember 1813. Eine bayrische Einheit, die zuvor Napoleon geschlagen hatte nahm die Burg nach dreitägiger Belagerung ein.
Einem Pfarrer aus Hagenthal ist es zu verdanken, dass die Burg nicht von Mineuren gesprengt wurde. Er konnte die Bayern überzeugen, dass der alte Turm ein schöneres Siegeszeichen sei, als ein Steinhaufen.

In december 1813 Bavarian troops took the castle after a three day siege. Thanks to a priest from Hagenthal, the castle was not blasted by miners. The priest could convince the Bavarians, that the intact castle would be a greater trophy of their victory than a pile of rocks.

Aufgrund des uneingeschränkten Panoramablicks und dem Fehlen jeglicher Oberleitungen, wird das Areal gerne von Dronenpiloten genutzt.

Because of the unhindered panorama view and the absence of aerial power lines, the site is frequently used by drone pilots.

Postet die Koordinaten und/oder den Namen des Ortes als Kommentar. Wenn Ihr möchtet könnt Ihr auch genau beschreiben, was ich vor Ort genau für Euch einfangen soll. Ich werde mein GPS einsetzen, um so nah wie möglich dorthin zu gelangen.

Go to google maps -> using this link <- and browse the map within a maximum distance of 15 km to Basel, Switzerland.
-If you find something that catches your interest, right click on the location and select ´What's here?´from the context menu to obtain the latitude and longitude coordinates.
