The local gem safari #5 - The Goetheanum
Welcome to a new episode of the local gem safari ! In this series you can send me out to places of your choice and I will report back to you what I stumble upon!
Willkomen zu einer neuen Ausgabe der local gem safari! In dieser Serie könnt Ihr mich zu Orten Eurer Wahl schicken und ich werde berichten, worauf ich dort stosse.
This is how it works: At the end of this post you find the perimeter within which you can send me around once every week. Grab the coordinates or the name of the place of your interest from google maps and post it to the comments. You can either specify what you want me to capture at that location Or you simply leave it up to me to decide what I find worth reporting from there.
The proposal with the most upvotes after the first payout will send me to the next destination and will be rewarded with 25% of the earnings of the resulting post!
Und so funktioniert´s: Am Ende dieses Beitrages findet ihr den Aktionsradius innherhalb dessen Ihr mich einmal pro Woche losschicken könnt. Entnehmt Google maps die Koordinaten oder die Bezeichnung des Ortes der Euch interessiert, und postet diese als Kommentar. Ihr könnt angeben, was genau ich dort für Euch einfangen soll Oder Ihr überlasst es mir zu entscheiden, was ich von dort berichte. Der Vorschlag mit den meisten upvotes nach der ersten Auszahlung gibt das Ziel für die nächste Safari vor und wird mit 25% der Einnahmen des resultierenden Beitrages belohnt!

And so I geared up and set out to where @deearchi had sent me:
Und so habe ich mich also auf den Weg gemacht und den Ort aufgesucht, an den mich @deearchi geschickt hatte:

To Dornach in the canton of Solothurn in Switzerland.
Auf also nach Dornach im Kanton Solothurn (Schweiz).
At the target coordinates I found myself on a cemetary.
An den Zielkoordinaten angelangt, finde ich mich auf einem Friedhof wieder.
Some nice floral decors yet all in all nothing too special to report from here.
Teilweise mit schönem Grabschmuck, aber alles in allem nichts allzu spezielles von hier zu berichten.
I started to move hillwards, hoping that some morning sun would break through the clouds.
Langsam ging ich hangaufwärts, hoffend, dass etwas Morgensonne durch die Wolckendecke brechen würde.
Unfortunately, it remained grey and misty.
Leider blieb es grau und diesig.
But then, on my way further up the hill, the houses started to look quite peculiar.
Auf meinem weiteren Weg den Hang hinauf stellte ich fest, dass die Wohnhäuser begannen, eigenartig auszusehen.
And not just the houses, also streetlights and even a current transformer station had an unusual style of construction.
Und nicht allein die Häuser, auch Strassenlampen und sogar ein Transformatorenhaus waren eigenartig gestaltet.

And then I saw it through the trees, the gravitational center of this peculiar architecture...
Und dann erblickte ich durch die Bäume hindurch das Gravitationszentrum dieser eigenartigen Architektur...
...the mother ship, Rudolf Steiner´s cathedral, world center of the anthroposophic society, the Goetheanum.

No right angles, the distinguishing mark of anthroposophic architecture.
Keinerlei rechte Winkel, Kennzeichen der anthroposophischen Architektur.
A giant red glass window in the form of triptych. The engravings are meant to show the development of man and his quest for knowledge and insight.
Ein riesenhaftes, rotes Glassfenster in Gestalt eines Triptychons. Die Gravuren sollen die individuelle Entwicklung des Menschen auf seiner Suche nach Wissen und Erkenntnis darstellen.
Luckily, not everything was purely ethereous inside here.
Erfreulicherweise war nicht alles rein ätherisch hier.
There was an inviting bistro in the basement where I could enjoy my second breakfast of the day :-)
Im Ergeschoss ein einladendes Bistro, in welchem ich mir das zweite Frühstück des Tages gönnen konnte :-)

15 km max from downtown Basel, Switzerland (47.560696, 7.586765):
- Go to google maps -> using this link <- and browse the map within a maximum distance of 15 km to Basel, Switzerland.
- If you find something that catches your interest, right click on the location and select ´What's here?´from the context menu to obtain the latitude and longitude coordinates.
- Add the coordinates and/or the name of the place to the comments. If you wish you can further specify what exactly you would like me to report from there. I will use my GPS to get there as close as possible.
-Geht über -> diesen link <- auf Google Maps und durchstöbert die Karte in einem Umkreis von 15 km rund um Basel.
-Wenn ihr auf etwas interessantes stosst, könnt Ihr mit einen Rechtsklick über das Kontextmenü bei "Was ist hier?" die Längen- und Breitengrade des Ortes entnehmen.
-Postet die Koordinaten und/oder den Namen des Ortes als Kommentar. Wenn Ihr möchtet könnt Ihr auch genau beschreiben, was ich vor Ort genau für Euch einfangen soll. Ich werde mein GPS einsetzen, um so nah wie möglich dorthin zu gelangen.
