Skin Orgasm? You're Playing My Song!
I want to rest my head on a pillow made of Morgan Freemans voice.

Certain sounds and frequencies just do it for you. Morgan Freemans voice places me under a trance. And I get the chills to certain songs, Silent Lucidity, Pumpin Blood, In the Valley of Peaches, and a surprising amount of songs on the Shameless US soundtrack are among a number of tunes that tease my skin into orgasm every time.
Known as "skin orgasms", frissons are the goosebumps we get when listening to that song. It's caused by dopamine- our natural "feel good" hormone flooding the system and stimulating an ancient reward pathway in the brain called the Striatum.
Some people do not experience this phenomena, about 50% it's estimated. Smithsonian researchers have found that the brains of individuals who do experience goosebumps or shivers down the spine from music are wired differently. They have ore nerve fibers connecting the auditory cortex- the sound processing part of the brain- to the anterior insular cortex- the feelings processing region. The auditory cortex also strongly links to the parts of the brain that monitor emotions.

The ability to experience a frisson is related to a personality trait called Openness to Experience.
Sad music triggers frissons more than upbeat music. Melancholy songs activate a distress signal which our ancestors felt when separated from the tribe. Strangely though, these sad frisson sessions actually evoke a positive response in the listener. When the brain realizes you are not in danger, it floods you with happy- so the chill remains even after the fear vanished.
Keep a list of the songs which give you skin orgasms and play them whenever you need a "dose". Natural dopamine is the best high ever, and there's zero side effects.

Now, to find a seamstress to weave Morgans voice into my pillow...

Ha ha ha. That opening line. I had no idea about this. I really just assumed everyone got that feeling if the right music was playing for them. Epic! I also happened to watch this video last night from Vsauce. Check it out, @arbitrarykitten. Thank you for the awesome post! But James Earl Jones does it for me. That voice! xD
Nope, only a select few :)
Oh wow, that's crazy how Music is the only thing that occupies his poor brain...
James Earl Jones, huh? Now his voice does not cause me chills, however it is one amazing voice!
Very interesting information. I never heard of that term before and sadly have not had that experience when listening to music. Back when I was a police officer and I arrived on a scene and I knew something terrible had happened but I have seen it yet then I would get those same type of reactions. It wasn't a reward or joy, it was more like a sense that some bad shit had just gone down.
Morgan Freeman is the master of voice over. That man can make anything sound appealing and put you at ease.
Your story reminds me of an experience I had...
I was working in a medical room with biohazard so I had my mask and gloves on. It was a normal early Saturday afternoon. I suddenly was overwhelmed by a feeling of impending doom.
I look out the window and see the receptionists laughing at their computer, my associates talking with clients or reading. The weather was sunny for that December day .
Nothing seemed out of the ordinary.
A minute or two my phone starts vibrating in my back pocket.
My heart stopped and I sortof froze.
It stopped. Then began again.
I tore off my gloves and left biohazard.
It was a Sheriff. Informing me my son had been attacked by three Bull Mastiffs.
Instincts.
Just the memory of that gives me the chills.
I really think we are capable of sensing events. I think in my case these events were so terrible, and sometimes beyond evil, that the energy was just overpowering.
I think that with guidance you could tune this ability. I would have no idea where to start though.
That is terrible about your son. Is he okay now?
When I answered, the Sheriff informed me that he might lose his arm. ... That's just not something you tell a Mom over the phone...
But he healed wonderfully. He had 207 pieces taken from his body, mainly his left arm, face and neck. He was only in ICU one week. He did not have PTSD, however, which is pretty amazing. He was immediately begging me for a dog for Christmas, in fact!
He was 10. He immediately created a favorite saying within days of being released and getting back into school, "Chicks dig scars."
Boys. lol
I can imagine the terror that phone call caused. That deputy must have been lacking in common sense. That would scare the hell out of me to get a call like that!
That is wonderful that your son is doing well both physically and emotionally! Kids can persevere much better than adults.
As far as I know the scar thing is correct, I've got a ton of them and some amazing stories. My kids love them too. I just have to remember what BS story I made up to go with each scar.
You- "I got this fighting two Intruders"
Your mother- "he got it falling off the bottom stairs."
I fucking love musical frisson. It's nearly as good as a shot of dope - hell, back when I used, combined WITH a shot of dope is was just pure orgasmic bliss.
The only thing that can top this even further would be the addition of some ASMR - maybe I'll do a post/write up on that! :D
Then we will know where everyones SBD is going that weekend ;)
I think I might write one up this weekend if I have a chance - and I'll share one of my favorite ASMR vids - you'll literally get the shivers and probably have an orgasm too haha!
Glad I can be inspiring ;)
I felt that frissons reading your post. Have a good day ;)
That makes me happy :)
Have a blessed day yourself!

never heard the term skin orgasm before but it sounds enjoyable. Does it have the same side effects of pillow grabbing and low groaning as normal orgasms ;)
Don't forget the heavy breathing and post bliss

Hello Ary, and great to meet you :)
It seems to have little to with either skin or orgasms. Could it be a mistranslation?
It's explained in the article how the "chills" or Goosebumps we get while listening to certain music is called frissons, or "skin orgasms".
