No word count requirement, let's make this one more of a freestyle writing exercise.
For me, I think a good example would be when I took my SAT's in high school. Here in the US, the SAT is a test that colleges look at your score to decide whether to accept you or not. I didn't study. Like, at all. I was just being a typical teenager and blew it off. I always did well on tests and I didn't think this one would be any different. Boy was I wrong. I was sweating bullets through the whole test! Second guessing every answer, changing answers, recalculating, erasing, remarking. Finally, it was over. I was sure I had bombed it completely. The episode of Saved by the Bell where Jessie, the supposed smart one, scores low on her SAT's, flashed through my head. That was gonna be me, not wanting to tell anyone my score. Weeks later, when the test scores came back, I had done fine. It wasn't the greatest, but I had done well enough to get into college and I felt extremely lucky that I did as well as I did in the end. I thought for sure I had failed.

One day my friend and I were going to school. I saw a person getting sick. Then I told my friend that we would take this person to the doctor. But my friend said, he can not go today. Because today we have a weekly exam so he went away. But I did not go to school. I took the person to the doctor and then I went to school. I was 20 minutes late to go to the school so I could not write more about the exam. So I failed in examinations. But I think I've passed in real exam

I had one class in college where the professor always lock the door fifteen minutes after the start of the class. Each student can miss up to five classes without any consequences;, and on the sixth strike, we will be forced to drop the subject regardless of our current standing and our progress in the semester. Because I have another important class from a different building before this class, I always arrive 10 minutes late. I easily got five strikes and I was on the verge of getting my sixth on a February 15. I was already holding back my tears, feeling sorry for the four months of effort that I have exerted for this class.
While I was walking along the aisle, I suddenly thought of a nasty idea. I'll be waiting outside the classroom until another student go out to the comfort room - and I will enter the open door as if nothing happened. Not long after, a guy went out the door. I left my bag outside the room with only a pen and a sheet of paper inside my pocket (and my valuables of course), so people will think that I came from the comfort room too.
The class went on as usual. And before the class was dismissed, the professor announced that he did not close the door as a post-Valentines day gift to us. He expected his students to wake up late from yesterday, whatever we did during that night. I was relieved even though I spent my Valentines night alone, finishing a school paper. That was the last time that I came late for that class. And I fortunately passed the course a month after.
This one time i gave my cat catnip.. the dude went batshit, eyes buldging excited like he just completed an enormous poop (cat owners will understand this look), started climbing the curtains... I thought he was going to overdose. He didn't. Close call though!
