four legged religion

i am dog late for church
at the ever-loving latex asylum of pious zen word
a haze of purple sunshine running over my path

a crunchy milk bone biscuit scent swerves my intent
that address lost in the need to feed
my shaggy soles bare, i traverse the highway

sounds hip hop across the sidewalk of my journey
playing double dutch with my lust for adventure
a many scented tree at the end of daylight finally drags my nose to your door

powerful magic is afoot here
riding high like a lick of sea salt on a freshly washed steak
ash showered and ready for eating

a soulful bellow of desire wounds my ears
a hound loving teeth chomping fast food snack bar
my ears came to listen

entranced by the weight of your style
mesmerized by moon milk and honey oozing
from lips of spit pork tongue red wine

you may bark nice but you run from danger
hide behind scenes like scooby on xanax
preaching about the dark forces of nature

burning fate at the stake
we spin from space
born on a planet of just disease

I am unused to this gospel
as un-shaded by doubt as the light of day
all cats sing in natty goon colours turning worlds inside out

blessed be thy chorus praise accepted and returned
all sinners repent moonlight is near
as all creatures run wild

the word is dog and dog is god
we are all one with the master
we are all the master and maker

we are all good and evil
black and white
dog and cat

sing to the beauty of animal love
praise the furry wisdom
my voice is one of beauty

living is breathing in
living is running free
dog is - the howl that fills your bowl
