creation - clays birthday myth
when Clay was born
mother nature cracked
her teutonic plate hips wide
and spewed spiked coal hell
hot red lava blood into the frozen night
from her swollen womb her placenta bled
into the soil, her blood dried
when Clay was born he wailed
cyclones, sipped starlight from jugs
hung in the milky way
and pooped asteroids out of his nappies.
the sun was his blanket and
the moon his night light.
when Clay was born
god gave him toys to play with
he had wanted a boy
so he created dinosaurs
and hairy trolls who
lived in caves
Clay got mad at the dinosaurs
when they ate everything
so he buried them in frozen sand
when Clay was born
the universe was his crib.
it was quite small.
since then, he's moved
into a larger house with a big back yard
and lots of doors called
black holes
one day, when god isn't watching
Clay's going to sneak out and see
what's there
