Nvidia se distanciará da fabricação de gpus com foco na mineração de criptomoedas
O fabricante de dispositivos eletrônicos e chips de computador, a Nvidia anunciou que é removido por momentos de sua breve incursão no mercado para criptomonedas de mineração, depois de ver um declínio nas vendas no segundo trimestre deste ano.
Tendo ganhos projetados de US $ 100 milhões para o segundo trimestre de 2018 e só conheceu $ 18 milhões, de acordo com o relatório financeiro, a empresa estabeleceu na Califórnia decidiu que criptomonedas mineração "não seria material para a empresa na segunda metade do ano fiscal ". Durante o mesmo trimestre fiscal do ano passado, as vendas de chips de mineração atingiram US $ 289 milhões de dólares.
De acordo com um relatório CNBC, Colette Kress, vice-presidente e CFO da Nvidia, disse que a empresa toma a decisão de retirar do mercado em que participou antes de competir com a AMD, outra grande fabricante de cartões de processamento gráfico favorecido por mineiros.
Por sua parte, Jensen Huang, CEO da Nvidia, disse em uma reunião privada com investidores durante períodos anteriores eram rentáveis, "mas neste momento acreditamos que não será rentável" para o segundo semestre do ano.
